I was visiting Knoxville TN in early Jan 85 when they broke their all time record low temp. It was something like 18 below.

That was the year my neighbor's pipes froze - they were away and left the thermostat at 60 - but the temp under the house was lower - I think it was in the low teens. No damage in the house, thankfully.

The plumbers were so busy that we just turned their water off until they were due home, and had the plumbers come the day before to fix the pipes.

It's cold here today. Supposed to feel like it's in the single digits for the Packer game today. Hopefully that will give the Packers an edge over the Vikings.

I actually just read that this will be the coldest November game in 16 years for the Packers.

And with that, I will see you after the game.

I saw on the news that the city of San Francisco has banned tour buses from driving past the Painted Ladies where the Tanner house is located. The residents are complaining about traffic.

I looked it up - it was Jan. 21 (1985) in Knoxville and they hit minus 24. The story said the whole SE was affected by an Arctic front. We had a foot or more of snow in Knoxville as I recall.

The Giants v Cowboys game is going to not be a good one for kickers with this 40 mph wind.

I thought it was going to blow my Jeep off the road when I went to get bagels before.

It's supposed to be cold and windy all day here too - the Pats/ Denver game should be interesting tonight.

Yikes!

Where I live, its all sun and hot (always between 20Celsius and 35C)

Now, that's the kind of "knockout game" I don't mind...

-2 C is like around 28 degrees Fahrenheit, right? That's what we call a heat wave in January or February here.
the power of google says you're correct! 28.4F to be exact.
brrrr.. I hope my curiosity for snow does not kill me ( as I plan to visit with a disney cruise the zones of Alaska or go to Canada to check the snow zones some day)
