I know a few hoarders.... why on earth do you need to keep books in boxes for the rest of eternity? Why do you need to keep broken electronics. It's not like they're going to magically work in the future. Unless they are at a DisneyParks, then they'll magically work.

I do have books in boxes for potential grandchildren.

By books I mean huge, old, boring books that my dad hoards. He has huge boxes in the basement and won't go through them to sell at a garage sale or donate to Goodwill.

My kids have tons of books here too, but I don't dare get rid of any of them.

We sold a bunch of my/my brother's books a few years back at a garage sale. Books sell really fast, if anyone is thinking about selling them.

My mom has boxes of books, stuffed animals, hot wheels, VHS tapes (I don't know why either), Hess trucks, and toys waiting for when her grandchildren come someday. She is going to have to be really patient though because its going to be a while.

I saved a lot of the Fisher-Price toys my kids had growing up. I figure I'll play with them if we don't have grandchildren some day!

I had the Fisher-Price toy cars you could sit in and drive around like you were a Flintstones character. They took up too much garage space so they went to my cousin's kids who donated them to Day Care when they outgrew them. Those were the only toys I wanted out of all my kids stuff.
Did you guys have the Tupperware shape-sorter ball? DH and I used to have timed races with that one after the kids were in bed!
That was actually a game I was playing on Christmas. My relative doesn't have a TV so we had to come up with some games to avoid actual conversation.
