So I just finished with AAA - have a package booked instead of a room. They are going to take care of switching dining reservations to new confirmation number and monitoring discounts and will *supposedly* email me if they switch me to a better deal. I am not used to any travel agent intervention - I am TYPE A and usually micromanage this all for myself. This feels weird.

There aren't too many that are "funny" these days, but annoying.

My all-time favorite was from back in the 90's. Not only was if funny & time-tested, but it made "Great Googly Moogly" a catchphrase for awhile. Good stuff.

I never saw that commercial, but even if I did, I suspect that your interpretation of it being used as a catch phrase came about while you were under anesthesia when you had those teeth removed.

So working on sorting through seasonal clothes and whatnot today and finding places to put things. Just one question:
When "adult" children move out, do they ever really move all their stuff?

When my parents bought a new house, they told us they weren't bringing any of our stuff to the new house. We could get it, or it would get thrown away.

But we didn't have much anyway. My BILs have huge amounts of old stuff stored at my MIL's house.

My daughter had an apartment the last 2 years of college and then 3 years after that. When she moved out of that and into her husband's house, she brought all the "old" stuff here in case her brother might want it since she had all new stuff from showers and wedding gifts. So when her brother got an apartment, he moved in with 3 other guys, so they had plenty of "stuff" , then he moved in with his wife to her tiny attic apartment where there's no room for anything. So now, we have their shower gifts, wedding gifts, my daughter's "old stuff", a few things from my MIL's housethat my husband won't part with, plus all our "stuff". I feel like we had more room when all 4 of us lived here!

I took my clothes and electronics. Every thing else is still in my old room under whatever stuff my mom is storing in there. She keeps the room the same pretty much by choice though.

I know the feeling. My in-laws have booked us all through a travel agent for November. The whole experience has been a nightmare in general and I feel like I have no control over anything.

My closet in my mom's house still looks about the same. I look through and see if anything of interest for my kids whenever I'm home. My wife's parents continue to leave stuff that supposedly belongs to my wife in our garage. When we look through it most of it belongs to her sister or to them.

No. When my parents come to visit they always bring stuff my mom announces she "found while she was cleaning".

As long as I can link confirmation numbers to MDE and be able to SEE everything I will be ok. Otherwise I am going to lose it.

I like your mom!!!!

My son's room we try to keep as the guest room too, but right now there are stacks of wedding gifts still there. I did put my DIL's wedding dress and veil upstairs out of the cats' reach, but I really don't have a whole lot of room there either.

My MIL and my mother are on opposite extremes of the hoarder spectrum. My MIL not only lets her grown sons store their childhood things in her house, but she never throws away any of her own things.

You should get the wedding dress sealed and boxed up. Takes up a lot less space and makes it more protected from the elements.

I know a few hoarders.... why on earth do you need to keep books in boxes for the rest of eternity? Why do you need to keep broken electronics. It's not like they're going to magically work in the future. Unless they are at a DisneyParks, then they'll magically work.
