When I first moved to Flagstaff I lived in my tent (with my cat) for a couple of months. I learned the fine art of using the campground restrooms....

It is definitely an art!

That's pretty cool - I would love to live in a tent short term. It's a nice way to rediscover nature.

We used to tent camp with the kids when they were younger, but eventually we bought a tent trailer thing (a "pop-up") which we use as a guest house here in the summer. It's pretty nice inside.

Being raised country, from the time before I was born until I graduated high school we camped in a campgrounds from May 1 through October 1. And that's every day, only driving back into the city for school and my dad to work. Once school was out, us girls barely left the campgrounds. (In middle school/high school my sisters and I shared our own camper by my dad's camper. I guess 4 teenage girls in a confined space was too much for him. :D) I love camping and everything that comes with it. (Okay maybe not the mosquitos, occasional skunk and once in awhile raccoon.:)) I remember when Y2K rolled around I kept thinking, I'll survive because I learned those camping skills and a majority of the US couldn't survive without electricity.

When camping a couple years ago, we were taking a trash bad to the dumpster, and when we opened up the lid, a raccoon came crawling out. It scared the crap out of me!

Whoa, wait, so you were sitting in the garage and someone brought out a trash bag to throw in you and a raccoon jumped out of you and you were scared and you had no idea it was living inside you?

This, my friends, is why it is soooooo important to stay updated with the happenings around here.

It's my bad. All that technology talk drove to start looking for vacation options off the grid.
