Mine reacts according to what bags she sees.
- Just the small carry-on bags: She gets excited and starts prancing and jumping around because there is a 70% chance she is coming along for this adventure.
- Big black suitcase present: Crap they are leaving me! No, I'm going to be banished to that house with the crazy lady and the cat! Don't do this. *Grovels at my feet, then drops in front of the door in hopes to block us*

I wonder how she is going to react to the packing for camping. The massive pile of pillows, the air mattress bag, and tent are going to be new things for her to figure out.
Is she going camping with you? Our Golden loved to camp.

Probably not. I haven't gone camping in like 10 years so this trip is my friends' attempt to get me and my gf to embrace it. They have been pestering us to give it a chance after we refused to do it during a music festival. I'll take the dog next time once I have everything figured out.

Maybe you should get him a "pup" tent!

I'm going camping in a few weeks. Yeah, how about that people going to Disney? Bet you are all jealous. Please take me with you! I hate camping.
My camping theory is that if we as a species had meant to camp, god would have never invented the hammer and saw to build houses with. Many species of animals are equipped to survive in the outdoors, humans are not. The only thing that kept prehistoric man going was because they were waiting for Century Minus 100,000 Real Estate to find that perfect bungalow that is situated close to good schools and shopping to become available. If it wasn't for that slight glimmer of hope we would have died out years and years ago. If we were meant to BM* in the woods, leaves would have the same texture as Charmin.:in pain:

I believe that it was that along with the constant confusion between usable leaves and poison ivy that was the very thing that pushed society forward.

*the other BM!

I love camping. I turn into a backswoodswoman. We used to go every year with a group of 25 or so friends and it was a big 3 day party. This, of course, was before kids and we used to get yelled at by the families on the adjacent campgrounds because we were LOUD. We haven't gone WITH the kids because we know karma is a sneaky little b that has been waiting to get us back with loud drunk kids surrounding our campsites. I remember one year being awakened to a family blasting Barney at the crack of dawn at the next campsite. I guess that was payback for whatever disturbances we caused the night before. We just sang along. They were not amused. Ahhh the younger days.

We are staying at the Beach Club - that's actually the ESPN club that I meant. I think we are going to watch it in the room - the kids love the commercials and my husband and I are HUGE football fans and watch every play of the game - I think the room and a 12 pack may be the best bet.

Is the MK parade the next day insanely crowded as well or do people generally not care if the Superbowl MVP is the grand marshall? We may be the only people in NY looking to get OUT of NY before the big game! I have no interest in going - it's going to be FREEZING and I am NOT a fan of the cold.
Last year (I didn't go but heard) it was very crowded. It would depend on the team that's won. If it's an East Coast team, I would think more people would be there than if a West Coast team won. If you really want to see the MVP, then go and scout out a spot early, especially if you're seeing a lot of jerseys for that team. If not, I'd go to another park.

You can also watch the game in the lounge if you'd rather go there instead of sitting in your room. Last year my parents watched in the room while my brother and I went to MK (which was not crowded and we got a lot done. I'd rather watch later on my DVR;)). The last time the Ravens won we watched in the lounge. Both worked out.

Its going to just be 4 of us and NJ campgrounds don't allow alcohol. So we are going to do our best to not infuriate anyone around us so we don't get kicked out for sneaking in the devil's drink.

Cool - thanks for the recommendations. The only way we'd be interested in going to the parade is if the Jets won the superbowl (yeah...I know...ridiculous) or the Broncos (my husband is a huge Broncos fan). MK is open until 10 that night with EMH so if it's two boring teams we may skip it. The lounge sounds like a nice option too. Thanks!

It should be a nice time. Don't forget the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers!

No problem. My dad always said the only way he'd skip the parks to watch the Superbowl is if the Ravens are in it. Both times the Ravens were in it we were down there.

If somehow the Jets won, the parade is at 1. It's hard to find information about it; the way I knew was here at WDW Magic.

At the risk of giving away too much information: In the 5 years we went camping I have the distinction of being the only girl to never step foot in the campsite bathrooms. Those things were nasty beyone belief and I imagined catching some sort of communicable disease just by stepping in there. I brought baby wipes, deoderant, listerine and a bar of soap and accomplished all of my personal hygiene needs in the woods or in the river.

I hope no one decided to go swimming in that river...
