Country is better than rap. Well, anything is better than rap. I do like some country music  Mostly the country music that has popish tones. Not that I like mainstream music either.

The first CD I ever received was LeAnn Rimes. I think I was eleven or around that age

I was pretty much raised on country music. Got into pop, rock, hard rock, new wave, and punk in my teens, but, at the same time, never lost my love of country music and two steppin'. There are still many times when a good ol' song by George Strait is better than anything I've ever heard. :)

When I was in HS, at least 2 seniors were killed in car wrecks every year (among others) all the way through my junior year. During my senior year, we got all the way through graduation without that happening. The night of graduation, a fellow graduate I knew from our baseball team was on his way to Dallas with his girlfriend to attend her prom. He fell asleep at the wheel, his truck rolled, and they were both killed.
The next day was a bit s**ky.
Ugh. There were senior killed the year I was a freshman, but we were pretty fortunate. We lost one person to cancer (not my class, another class) but other than that, pretty much everyone was okay.

When I was in middle school, seventh grade to be exact, two brothers (one a year ahead of me and one a year behind me) and their parents were killed by their older brother, who is now in prison, probably for life, because his father wouldn't let him borrow the car. That was extremely hard for everyone. We ended up doing a benefit concert to raise money for a music scholarship since both boys were in band. I was in it for both chorus and orchestra. The band at the end played a special song that the school hired a composer to write in honor of the family. There was not a dry eye in that theater at the end.

Oh my. Far as I can remember, no murders/attempteds of classmates here in Texas. We moved in time for me to start my freshman year here. Plenty of fights at parties, etc., but, nothin' like that.
I do remember a party (that I was not at) at a classmates house when we lived in NoCal that ended badly. Kids parents were out of town, he had a bunch of other kids over, drugs, etc. One visitor p**sed him off. He grabbed a loaded deer rifle from above the fireplace mantle and shot the other dude, point blank, in the chest. Dude was in the hospital for months, but, he survived and eventually returned to school. Crazy stuff.

Yeah the murder thing was the worst. So far, I've been in a school where kids have been murdered, car accidents have killed, disease has killed, one of my friends got pregnant sophomore year of high school, and I've been involved in a shooting scare. I think I'm done now.

EDIT: I also forgot how they called 911 on me in school in seventh grade for an asthma attack. Yeah, no more please

So I was going to go to bed. But then apparently 3 cities in my state received a threat for the rest of the week against elemnetaty school students. So why? Like why are people complete wackos?

Course parents are freaking out because Sandy Hook happened right next door. My sister covered Sandy Hook among a few other tragedies...said it was horrible.
question, was it local threat or classic terror type from external sources?

let it goooooooo

by the way, I updated my trip report. lots of photos!
1:45 - do I grab that early night, or do I read your awesome report?
Decisions, decisions ....

Seriously though, I am very impressed with the quality of your photos, your insightful commentary, and your irrepressible sense of humour! Well done, so far. I

I am also quite proud of your English. Considering it is not your "first language", you speak/write it better than many.
And, only one "due of". ;)
