Have you dyed your hair before? Being that it's naturally black it'll have to be bleached if you're going all out. Have you thought about frosting the top with highlights? A dark blue or purple goes well with dark hair. Green or orangeish red goes with light hair.

I have natural Merida hair and will never change it but my niece dyes hers all the time. (She's naturally pale blond.) Currently it's highlighted blue to match her marching band uniform.
I love my hair color. It's light brown and turns blonde in the summer (or in FL). Never changing it; it suits me very well.

I think I should print this, frame it and set it on kitchen table for whenever my DS is home.

I'm thinking about dying my hair an unusual color. My hair is naturally black. I'm not sure what color to change it to yet but I want to make a statement that's fun and trendy. Talk me out of it or convince me that I'm on to something.

Well my first thought was Stop It. On a whole that is a high school thing and even in High School the trend is all but gone. If you are going to attend these functions go to Sally's Beauty Supply and purchase the ones that will wash out the next morning. I don't think this is Walt had in mind when he made his comments about not growing up. At somepoint we all had to grow up, get a job with health insurance and a 401K, move out of our parents basements and take responsibility for our futures. Hard to do with purple hair as the statement you'd be making, I have the maturity of a teenager, isn't what will land you a good job or any job for that matter.

You asked.

Our students cannot do that. Their hair must be natural or dyed to another natural human hair color. If it distracts they are suspended until it is dyed to a natural color. Same goes for the saving of heads into odd designs, gelled into strange sculptures. Not happening.

Ha! That wasn't even clever this time, you're slipping. Diligently you lurk and troll the thread lying in wait just throw out your little pathetic zingers to members. Oy.

Grown man seeking out opinions on hair color has what correlation to a forum post with the word Slurp? Nothing.

He asked and he got opinions from several members. Your post is correlates or is relevant how? It isn't.

Just another useless pot shot, the of being mean but I think most of us are bored with the feeble attempts. But all might not be lost for you, maybe you'll get some crossover coveted "likes" for the post. Whoop-dee-doo! :geek:

A hairdresser once told me that the hair color you're born with is usually the correct color for you. However, when people aren't sure about a color change, the suggestion is to go a shade slightly lighter than what you presently have, and see how that looks. If you have very dark brown or black hair, sometimes some subtle red highlights look very nice (but I'd suggest a professional do this type of coloring for you). Rule of thumb in color is that often a little goes a long way.

Now, if you want to do something more fun and colorful, there are preparations (sprays, temporary wash-in colors, etc.) that will wash out in 1-2 washes. Perhaps that might be an option for you on certain occasions (a concert, party, etc.), versus doing something a bit more drastic, such as permanently adding in a more vivid color.

I'm thinking something like one of these...

That's Daft Punk, by the way. They did the sound track for Tron Legacy. I look more like the guy on the bottom right with the dark hair...

... I guess what he did was use a highlight color...
