Yea, I'll pop a few if it's the only candy around, but, there are other types of the sweet stuff that I much prefer... :hungry:

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I'm thinking... I'm thinking... JAPAN (the way I do it)

Japan... Trains, hostels, sushi, and TDL!

I bet I can do Japan on the cheap just like I just did California!

What's the cheapest you think I could fly into Japan for (round trip)?

It doesn't have to be Tokyo. As long as the airport has transit that connects me to the rest of the country!
Peter - STAY IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY.
You have enough issues without adding in a language barrier.

Or come to Canada. I'll take care of you.

I LOVE challenges!!!!! I could do it and have fun in the process... AND it will be smoother than my CA trip because of lessons I learned.

I've traveled to Israel 3 times, where they only speak English in Jerusalem. In Tel Aviv and the rest of the country, they spoke very broken English... Barely. I imagine Japan isn't that much different.

EDIT - Maybe I should do Europe before Japan?
If you are going to do something in Asia, Hong Kong would be your best bet. Mostly because English is an official language there.

Hong Kong, actually, is one of the cities I want to explore one day. It has the largest network of "skyway" moving sidewalks and pedestrian bridges that connect the skyscrapers so that you rarely have to go outside on the street level to explore.

Some of the Canadian cities, such as Toronto, have miles and miles of "underground city" that I want to explore.

Japan has the longest and deepest deep sea train tunnel in the world. The Chunnel is the second longest and deepest.

Or Dubai... Ah, never mind, I don't think they'll let me in with Israel stamped on my passport...

Another thing that went wrong with my trip that I've been quiet about up until now and that I'm not happy about...

When I got off the light rail in long beach on my way to the airport to go to San Francisco, I was using my iPad Mini to navigate through Google Maps and it slipped from my hands and landed glass-down on the concrete sidewalk, shattering the upper right corner and other glass breaks on the screen. I just bought it like a couple of months ago and did not buy an extended warranty. I doubt the basic warranty covers it. I'll take it over to Apple as soon as I get brave enough to face the music.

Also, before I left, my $1,500 audio receiver stopped outputting sound. I changed the fuse and it still does not output sound. I really hope it's not going to cost as much as my trip to get these things fixed.

Welcome to my world!

In a sense, welcome to everyone's world. Stupid stuff happens to all of us, and sometimes it's also pricey. :(

I truly hope you can get your iPad Mini fixed. I don't use anything like that, but if you can find the warranty information, perhaps you might get lucky, and bring it in just under the time deadline. As for the audio receiver, again I'm clueless about items like that. As a suggestion, have you tried a brief search on Google to see if maybe there might be some basic, trouble-shooting ideas? Checking a fuse sounded like a good first step, but maybe there might be a few other things to try, before you take it to the repair shop.

As I was just telling @StarWarsGirl95 , I want to explore Canada's underground cities. Is it Toronto that has the biggest underground network?

Many years ago, my parents took me on a vacation to Quebec. Montreal had a very large underground shopping and entertainment area, all of it connected to their very efficient, metro subway trains. We really enjoyed the experience. I haven't been to Toronto, but Quebec had many interesting sights to see, both above and below ground. :)
