My nephew is in the Air Force and just shipped out to Japan for four years. (He was back in the U.S. (Wyoming) for one year and Turkey for six years before that.) The picture just made me think of him.

Thank you! I've always been a climber, too. Trees, hiking, and we did a heckuva' lot of rock climbing and rappelling, back in the day, too.
Anyway, just like with most things like that, pics just don't do it justice. It is really a site to behold, all that pink granite. Much of our state capital building is constructed of the same pink granite...

Well that isn't entirely true. I do love spending endless hours in the whirlpool at Silver Creek Springs pool at the Wilderness Lodge! That is about as outdoorsy as I get.

Ah, skunk season

I came home from walking Walt and my bedroom smelled like Pepe. A/C and Yankee Candle (suntan lotion fragrance) and now it is much better.

I'm gonna' guess it's probably, partially, a proximity thing, as well...what, with you bein' so close to wilderness up there all your life in the GWN, Polynesia would be some kinda' escape...!

I dream of the tropics, as well, just not at WDW so much, anymore.

We've never taken one of those vacations where all you do is lay on the beach all day and snap your fingers for people to bring you adult beverages with little umbrellas in 'em.
Personally, I'd like to start with Bora Bora...

How does Mirai corn taste? Is it sweeter than regular corn?

We have excellent corn here in Illinois at this time of the year but Mirai is far and above superior. So sweet. I can cook an amazing dinner and corn and we all just eat the corn and politely pick at the rest. Try it some day! It keeps about 2 weeks in refrigerator. Of course best gobbled up promptly.

We are still in squirrel season....we are always in squirrel season.

There have been recent reports of coyotes eating the family dogs lately, which is quite out of the ordinary

Yikes. Is there a food scarcity since this is out of the ordinary? Do they go after larger dogs too? I assume so if the coyotes travel in packs.
But for squirrel season...

Shoot. They are chipmunks. Are the the same? Well points for trying I guess.

Usually just small dogs but yes at times they will stalk large daydreaming dogs too. As can be seen here (funny)
