Ugh, so sorry.

Men, don't read
I feel your pain. I get them several times a year. My doctor lets me keep symptom medication on hand. I also have test strips at home so I can know at the very first sign whether or not to call my doctor. She is usually nice enough to just consult over the phone, give me an antibiotic, and I just walk into LabCorp sometime within the next three days. Thankfully O haven't had one in a few months.

Always good to get those things checked out. They can go up in your kidneys and that is REALLY miserable. Yes, I speak from experience.

Eeek. Compassion!

TMI Alert. Gentlemen, disregard.

I have a UTI. The nurse told me yesterday that there were nitrates in my urine sample yesterday.

Just got back from our walk, and boom, it's here.

I take two prophylactic Cipro each week, but now I will have to start a full five day regimen.
Also, I have a slight fever.

So much for getting an early night tonight - it will be at least an hour before the Azo kicks in.
That's awful. :( I hope you feel better.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Yep. I have taken 2 antibiotics each week (Monday and Friday) for a couple of years; which has helped a lot. Used to be a monthly occurrence. Now it's only every three months or so.

Azo works really well to mask symptoms until the antibiotics (full 5-day treatment) kicks in, but oh my, that first hour or two is torture.

Boy... you learn quick....did you make it to Guppy yet?

To this day, I still cannot do a backdive and don't really care![/QUOTE]

Yes, she is a fast learner! ;) (Note: I had misunderstood her post from days ago—sorry all, I thought her initial comment about the ocean meant she couldn't swim. I screwed up . . . :( )

Anyway, @unkadug as for your previous post, it sounds like you and I had somewhat similar names for swim class achievement levels. We had Guppy, Fish, Flying Fish, Shark, and Porpoise. (Attention: @PUSH I was once at Shark level. Just sayin . . . ) I passed through all the levels. When I was 14, I took jr. life saving. That concluded my swim classes.

@MOXOMUMD the reason for all the classes was two-fold: to learn swimming and progress to higher levels, and also because my parochial school didn't have gym classes at all. So, my mother sent me, first to a local pool, and then to a Y to have exercise a few days a week during the school year. :)

Up cycled candle container lids into table coasters. Of course, they were being used as such before the conversion, hence the ugliness.

They're much prettier now :)

Once again, you've turned utilitarian objects into beautiful, useful items. This reminded me of shows I used to love to watch on HGTV. They used to have excellent shows about crafts (Carol Duvall and other talented people) and interior design (Candace Olson was my favorite; she's from Canada. There were other wonderful designers, too, on HGTV). I have no talent in either artistic category, but I used to be in awe just watching people create things. HGTV stinks now. All they show are shows relating to real estate issues. No thanks.

I find that I quoted something instead of liking it, then when I like it, I forget to take off the quote. :grumpy:
That happens often, but, I don't understand why it cannot be deleted. It will stay there until you actually do quote something on that thread and then you can change it to whatever you are currently quoting. But it's like a little haunted thread, it always lingers in all it's shadowy glory.

Sure, but come back and look at this tomorrow as I've had a glass of wine, so I'll look at it again in the morning and if I don't poke me. I'll also look in the morning at the ounces of the containers. I am a visual cook vs a recipe measuring follower.

Added measurements.

1 contain of Deans Sour Cream (it blends the best) - 16 ounce
3/4 of a jar of Hellimanns Mayonnaise 30 FL OZ
3/4 cup of buttermilk (you can add more or less depending how thick or runny you like the dressing) I always pick the bottle and brand with best use by date
one cap (from bottle) of regular vinegar (it thins the mayonnaise so it isn't clumpy)
2 table spoons of dry parsley
teaspoon of salt
teaspoon of black pepper
3/4 jar of chopped garlic in olive oil 4.5 OZ
2 tablespoons of powdered garlic (this is the last thing I add and I go slowly tasting as I go along cause the jar garlic varies in potency so it could be more or less powdered)

I start with the Mayo in a large bowl and hand mixer with vinegar and then plop in the Sour Cream until they are completely mixed together. You can do by hand but I am impatient. Then the buttermilk but before I mix that in I put the dried parsley ontop of the Buttermilk to let it re hydrate a bit. I don't use fresh parsley 'cause it spoils too quickly where the dry does not. Blend well again. The salt and pepper, that can be to your taste and then the jar portion of garlic and blend again. Add the powdered garlic slowly and tasting. I keep it in the Glad tupperware that has the screw on top, the taller one. This recipe makes two of those containers and I give one to my Mom.

Pay very close attention to the expiration dates on the sour cream and buttermilk when purchasing. It keeps about a month if you are careful of the dates plus the mayo, salt, chopped garlic all have some preservative properties to them. But during tomato season I don't have to worry about it spoiling.

It also makes a wonderful veggie dip, I dip cheese in it and I've been known to lightly dip my fish in it too. My Mom uses it also on sandwiches in lieu of mayo and subs it with steak instead of her creamy horseradish sauce.

This is the little jar of chopped garlic I use. I picked the olive oil 'cause it holds the garlic taste. Brand doesn't matter, I generally find it in the produce dept around here.

Edit: with all this tasting, don't make the dressing on a day when you'll be around a lot of other people.

OK @unkadug I edited it!

I miss HGTV for when it was meant for the Average Joe. Once they started marketing themselves it was all over.
I use to enjoy Rachael Ray, now she has brought herself down notches by being the front gal for all the dudes and their floundering shows she is marketing. The one I got the most sick of and quickly was the Cake Boss. Likely Buddy always was a headcase however now he is over the top in love with himself.

I use to watch the Food Channel religiously, it was fun. Now not so much.
