That top pic is awesome!!! :)
But, I also love the second shot, and that cloud formation over Jack kinda' looks like a big, smilin' ghostie with a big white nose...at least to me on my iPhone, anyway...! ;) :)

Most arcades have "no food or drink" policies. I don't really think it was an age thing, one accidental misstep and you could trip and knock the lid off. Other CMs might not have seen you bring it in before, or they just didn't care. Apparently this one did. I know the arcade at POR has a sign on the door saying "No Food or Drink".

Given the date rape drugs being slipped into womens beverages do you really believe it is Sound Disney Policy to ask that beverages be left at the counter out of the sight of the guests? To me that is quite the liability Disney is taking on to safeguard beverages.

I thought about this after @StarWarsGirl95 posted and I'd be annoyed too. Disney removed the lockers from around the pool, what are you to do with their refill mugs? What will Disney do with refill mugs that are coming to the parks? Leave them with the CM as you get on the ride? To me if Disney is going to push the guests into purchasing refill mugs by inflating the prices of other beverage options then they best not mess with guests that purchased them and are using them around their resorts.

Disney has rules that they turn a blind eye to frequently. This reminds me of a CM that just wanted to mess with a guest. Bus Drivers ignore the refill mugs all the time. I boarded a bus every morning with coffee in a paper covered cup.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

The other option is to finish your beverage (or tip it out) before entering the arcade.

I doubt Disney objects to an empty mug being carried about.
Their objection is to potential spillage.

Except she wasn't on a date with the guy and she was with someone else. Don't think that would be a concern at all. (right in the middle of a Disney resort) Not likely.

Very cool!!!
All the prayers and karma the world can spare to ya'!!!!! SOOOOO very much hope this happens for you!!!!!!! :joyfull: (pretty sure I'm usin' that smilie too much, but, this definitely called for it! ;))
As is often said, money can't buy ya' happiness, but, ya' know what it can give ya'...? Options. And, options can, very often, lead to some serious happiness...!!!!! :)

Thank you!!! I'm super excited but trying to contain until everything is in, signed, peed on, tested, cleared, and I'm on my way to headquarters for orientation. THEN I'll allow myself to get fully be excited.

In the meantime, I'm trying to keep mum. I was offered a different position a few years ago but ended up having to turn it down due to, of all things, my credit score. Yep, the company checks credit scores. When I asked the person who was hiring me about it she said (and I quote!) "if your score is low, don't bother and don't waste my time" via EMAIL. had to turn down job. Since then, credit score has improved, my (student) credit cards are completely paid off, the only debt I now have is my student loans and a $75 Kohls balance. But I was so excited to get this job, that, before learning of the credit thing, I told everyone...then had to tuck my tail in and say I didn't take it. It was not a pleasant experience. I still am ed about that...it was a really good paying job.

I have no reason to believe that I wouldn't pass any clearances, background check, FBI profiling, or drug tests, just a bad paranoia from being burned in the past. Don't want to flaunt then have karma show up and kick me in the .

And that's also the only reason I am giving my boss notice...karma. That's it.

I fear Son #2 and the girlfriend of 15 months may be breaking up.
Not sure what's going on, but he doesn't want to talk about it.

When I try to talk to him about it, he blows right up at me.
And then, two minutes later, he'll make a reference to being all stressed out by her and her neediness.

Reminds me of an old bud of mine from way back when. He told his gf that she needed to be less clingy and more independent. She did just that.
She dropped 'im like a bad habit, and they never dated again.
He ended up marryin' his former HS sweetheart about a year later.

I know one thing, I have never tried to talk to my son about his love life. If he has opted to 'share' I listen. I never step into that dance, it can never end well for me.

And I say, "That'll change next year" because, as long as my clearances/drug test/etc. come back acceptable (as they should)... I got the job I interviewed for this morning.

She called me at lunch time and said "I couldn't wait till Monday to tell you". I'm trying hard to contain my excitement, but WHOOOO BOY am I losing that battle :)

I am so happy for you. You've endured a lot this year and man do you deserve a good break like this.
Wooooooottttt!

I'm just not happy that he treated me so rudely and asked that I put the drink down. You don't do that if you are a girl. He could have said "Please be careful with your drink" or since I was with my brother, asked that one of us hold it at all times. Either solution would be better than, "Just leave it here." I shudder to think what would happen if he told another young woman that.

Creepity. Such a dangerous policy for a guy to even suggest. It is pounded into girls heads from young never ever take your eyes off your drink and don't leave it with a guy. I'm sure that 'leave it here' is a much larger breach in rules than a guest carrying a beverage in an arcade. Those lids stay on pretty darn well too. I had one atop my truck, I pulled out with it on the roof it hit the driveway and didn't pop.

I don't think Disney is too concerned with date rape drugs. They're more concerned with damage to their arcades, which is what the policy is trying to prevent. The policy is for no food or drink inside the arcade, and whether someone agrees with it or not, that's the rule. If you don't want to finish or dump it, then you have to abide by Disney's policy. The other option is to leave, which is what was chosen in this case.

Turning a blind eye to other rules doesn't really matter, either. Just because one rule is broken, doesn't mean it's okay to break another one.

No
I took a coffee in a travel mug to my uncle's funeral visitation.

The lady at the door, asked me to leave it with her, and that I would be free to enjoy it in the lounge after I've visited the family.

No big deal. I gave her the cup, went into the visitation room, and then drank it in the lounge 15 minutes later, before returning to the room.

Then I saw my cousin in the room with a Coke.
And guess what, no big deal.
Rules are rules. I got "caught". She did not.
That was differrent. You handed it to a woman.

I later returned to the arcade. I clearly had my mug there and the CM said nothing. I even went to the counter with it sitting right there and he still said nothing. With everything that goes on with date rape and all, saying to leave it there was poor advice. He should have advised is to pass the mug to each other when we were playing. Instead he chose to be condescending.

My dad has dubbed him the drink Nazi.

Sorry for being so far behind sometimes, but, I'm way less adept on my phone than even the laptop. ;)
Next weekend is new laptop time, so I'll still be behind, but, hopefully, not as far...! :D ;) :)
Anyway, very cool news!
Now, relax and bask in your weekend...!:)
