When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
World Showcase doesn't need characters or IPs. It's about celebrating the cultures, not movies that hardly fit in with the country.
That was true - a long, long time ago (in a galaxy far away) ....

Now, it's about food and booze. And food and booze festivals. And flower festivals featuring food and booze.
And oh yeah, did I mention food kiosks and booze?

It ain't what it used to be. Disappearing waterfront views. Character M & G's everywhere. Homogenized merchandise.

Besides, do you think it will be any worse than the El Rio del Tiempo conversion?

Sticking my neck out here ... I am ambivalent about a Frozen/Maelstrom mash-up.
Especially if it means improving that boring switchback queue, and the movie that nobody watches.

I will happily pick up some School bread for you, though.

What PUSH said. The Stave Church exhibit is Frozen themed, the gift shop is Frozen focused, the restaurant is a princess M&G. Once the ride becomes Frozen, it isn't really Norway anymore. It is going to be a fictional kingdom in an area that is supposed to represent various actual countries.

I'll rephrase my statement. It should be about the cultures. It doesn't need more character crap.

And yes to your last one, because I like Maelstrom more than El Rio del Tiempo, even though I can't remember it all too well, but I do remember I liked Maelstrom much more.

I don't get how Frozen could be a boat ride anyway... Elsa froze everything. Unless the entire story takes place in the first 15 or last 5 minutes of the movie, it doesn't work.

At least the El Rio overlay didn't have any effect on the rest of the pavilion. You can still enjoy the rest of Mexico if you dislike cartoons getting shoved into everything.

You are riding down a river of vodka. Boom. I just integrated F&W into the overlay. I'll leave my invoice on your desk, Meg.

Madam Secretary looks real good.

Swimming against the current again here - I have yet to have any Disney cupcake worth finishing.
Granted, I've only tried three or four different kinds.

I'll have some School bread or a carrot cake cookie, though.
And some popcorn from Karamelle-Kuche.

Here, I'll share the pic my DS texted me, we can drool together

Anyone have any tips of stuff I should see out in California? I'll be there the week of Aug. 25. Flying in and out of San Francisco. I'll definitely see the Disney Family Museum. I'm thinking about taking the scenic Amtrak Coastal to the the LA area. If I do that, I'll spend a day at DLR park hopping and see DCA 2.0.

I put a suggestion in your other thread, so I won't repeat here, except to say again, have a happy vacation! (I'm jealous of the scenic Amtrak Coastal you'll be riding—that should be quite a wonderful experience. Enjoy!)

Oh my stars my dog won't stop barking!!!!

My dog, Jack, goes on a barkfest over the silliest things. Anything he sees that "moves" outside the window is evil in his mind. Leaves falling, cars driving by, other people, dogs, cats, squirrels, chipmunks, birds—in his twisted mind, they're all invading his kingdom!

Do you know what precipitated your dog's nonstop barking? By the way, what's his/her name? :)

Sidney. As in Crosby. My daughter named him. My neighbors across the street have 3 high school/college boys. There's always activity over there. Occasionally he just stares out the window and barks. Most days he's just content to watch. Not last night though!!

Leaves! Spit my coffee. I'd love Jack.

Walt has 3 barks. 1, wandering anywhere in the house when he is not tired, needs more exercise and wants attention from someone or someone he likes arrived. 2, He sees something out the front window including a blowing plastic bag or any pastry on the counter 3, there is something wrong, stranger, inner guard dog. That bark always makes me hop to my feet or run down the stairs.
