I will second that - when I woke up the forum was down.

Ahem. :p The site was UP and running perfectly at 4:40 AM, until 5:30ish, before it went down for a while.

You see, if you and @Lucky would simply embrace an earlier hour to get up in the morning, you'd have lots of time to play on the site! :D I think the site went down for around 45 minutes or thereabouts, but I know it came back up sometime before 7 AM, when I was heading out the door to work.

in other news, Whasup with the hostility of some guys in the forum?
tikiman seems again in crossfire, I get called "armchair expert" for giving an opinion.. between other things.

Oh, that doesn't sound pleasant. Note: It's difficult for me to try and keep up with the N&R and General Discussion threads, so I miss a lot of those types of discussions.

However, I know that you post often in those threads, and I'm sure that the vast majority of people recognize you, and appreciate the thoughts you share. There's always a few that might disagree and don't take the time to nicely word their opposing position. But, those kinds of people are rude and don't matter, so don't let them get you down. And, as you know, you can always come here to the Sagateer thread, where you're always welcomed by us! :)

Its just that some people get ridicoulous defensive.

Someone had posted a very long comment, with no spaces.
I just asked them to write with more spaces. It was hard to read.

Then this guy tries to redirect the blame into my post (which I did at 3:00 am or so in the morning if I remember correctly) because it had bad expelling/writing... then someone else told me to use spell check.

Just play the "foreigner card".
Works for me.

And freed.

I saw that this morning...it gives you hope for humanity when all those strangers came to his rescue.

Happy birthday, @acishere! Most mornings I look at the members page to see who has a birthday, but when I woke up this morning the forum part of the site was down.

It's true, even if it does sound like a dog-ate-my-homework excuse.

Yes I got up early this AM and the site was down until about the time I normally get up.

I don't usually hang up on unsolicited calls.

Sometimes I lie.
"Oh you're calling for duct cleaning? I have electric baseboard heating."

Sometimes I just remind them that I'm on the Do Not Call List.
"Can I have your full name and the company name, so I can report you."

Sometimes I just waste their time.
"Hang on a sec, there's someone at the door." And then I don't come back.

And sometimes, I just speak gibberish.
"Lemon juice, post office, Bob Saget, NAP, dog house, caviar, light bulb (in my best Gru voice), chocolate bar, Terry Fox ...."
Guess who hangs up first.
For when my parents get the calls from my dad's alma mater, they're usually pretty nice, but let them know that if they give to a college, they would give to mine. For calls from nonprofit organizations like Purple Heart we usually let them give their presentation and then let them know that we're not interested. For MS society, we usually donate. They take items that we'd like to give away anyway, and my grandfather has MS, so we know he benefits from it. For other soliciation calls, we usually listen to their presentation, say we're not interested, and hang up. I seriously doubt my parents will ever give to my college (and they do call) since they paid my tuition there, but I might since it was through the generosity of others that I was given $17,000 a year in merit scholarships and able to afford to go there in the first place. That would be once I'm out of college and in a job, that is.

Benefit of caller ID: you can look and see who it is and choose not to answer in the first place!

I too have a small number of first cousins. Four on my dad's side and four on my mom's side.

But second cousins and first cousins once removed are a different story. My cousins on my dad's side will have four kids total once the next one is born. My one cousin is getting ready to have her first on my mom's side. Beyond that, I can't keep track.

I have had a total of 27 first cousins. Five are dead, Six I have never met and the rest I have had no contact with for over 30 years. (with the exception of wakes and funerals) Then just briefly.

I barely keep in contact with my cousins. The ones I'm in contact with are through Facebook. I do talk to them every now and then. One I haven't talked to in years (I talk to his gf though), one is in jail, one owes my grandfather money, the other is crazy and suing her father, and then the rest are okay, but we were never close. I anticipate staying close to the girls my aunt is raising since her son and his gf are in jail. The one looks like me, her sister is adorable, and I'm fairly close to my aunt.
