Universal and more Universal

He definitely looks more lab than Chow, especially his size. Yes, he does have a few black spots on his tongue, in keeping with his Chow lineage, along with the curly tail.

Long story short, he was a rescue from a known (illegal) dog-fighting breeding area in a part of Georgia. He was rescued by some very kind, local people there, when he and his sibling pups were seen being thrown out of a moving pickup, at the side of a back road. (This road was known as a dumping ground for dogs not considered good candidates for the illegal activity.) Once the rescuers brought the pups back to health and got all the proper vaccinations, they were then transported up to the Northeast to a no-kill shelter. That's where we adopted him.

(I wish I could adopt all the strays, but I'm reminded of an old expression: You can't save the whole world, just a little piece of it.) But it sure would be fun to have multiple dogs running around and playing. They're so entertaining!

Awe, he is so lucky to have found you. I can't even go to adoption days, I come so close everytime to coming home with a Pup. This is the first time we went this long with only one Pup. My Goldens use to wrestle with one another in the living room, flip the coffee table over, beat the snot out of each other and curl up in a ball together on the floor.

Well back from the BBQ at my Moms. As I said my Sis wanted to BBQ for us. Mom was a poor sport and also made mostaccioli cause she was certain many would not like what she was fixing. I could tell my sister still doesn't cook, fish was good as was corn, the rest not so much and her timing was way off. Sis set up a buffet in the kitchen to carry plates then to dining room. As my sis was pulling things together my Mom moved all the plates to the dining room and kept sneaking her food off the table and setting up a formal meal in the dining room. Priceless when my Sis saw what she had done. Mom kept asking DD and I if we liked it with that 'tone.'
My Sis went to clean up and my Mom said I'll Clean the Mess up you cooked. Ahh family. The worst of it was I was sober. I forgot to ask my DD to take her license so in case I NEEDED some wine....

Just poured a glass. Should be less tense in 20 minutes. My Sis is going to Palm Beach for Thanksgiving and the Amazon for Christmas so aside from a quick hop in this should be it for a while. Amen.

My Dad had an interesting second half of his construction career. His company was one of many of the contractors for the Alaskan Pipeline. Sears Tower in Chicago is still my favorite but there were so many more odd ones.

It looks as if one deal may have tanked, on Day 10 no less, and Hubby has a week worth of paperwork to get ready for Monday.
