I don't eat cantalope, too many issues with food borne deaths for my liking. I will eat mush melon though.
Funny, I always thought that they were exactly the same thing. Don't eat them anyway, mostly because I'm not fond of the taste, but that's another thraed. I wonder if they would taste better with salt on them?

Whatever dude. A tomato is technically a fruit.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
So, I haven't shared this story yet, as it is still playing out, and the details are sketchy.

Hubby's partner at work, is a lovely older gentleman named M.
I have been concerned with M's appearance for quite a while, and of course, being me, asked him directly if he was well. He assured me that he was, although he's had a bit of a persistent cough for 6+ months.

While working Saturdays with him at the new models last month, I asked him about his weight loss. He is normally a very lean man, but is downright gaunt right now. I always buy him little treats to have with his afternoon tea, but for those 3 weekends, I was feeding him 2 or 3 donuts per day.

On Monday, he spoke with the boss, saying that he was going to need a little time off work, and that if I were to fill in for him, he would forfeit his commission to me for any deals done during that time. He also said the same thing to Hubby a little later.

First of all, that's not how things work in this company, unless you need an extended leave of more than 3 months. Ideally, Hubby and M. should be sold out by then, and there is zero chance that I would scoop his $50K in commissions.

Anyway, long story short, I was right. M. is not well.
He has been undergoing tests these past few weeks.
He has another blood test and CT scan today; will work the weekend; and then has to have a needle biopsy on Monday.
On Tuesday, they will begin the first iron infusion and blood transfusion, another blood transfusion on Wednesday, and hopefully by Thursday they will have determined how to deal with the "mass" in his lower abdomen. Even prior to the biopsy, they are discussing radiation and/or chemo.

Hubby has not spoken to M. face to face yet, but hopes to get more details over the weekend.

Starting this weekend, Hubby will now be working 6 days per week, with me joining him on weekends if necessary. That is why I have gotten up with Beavis and Butthead every morning this week and done the work/school run, and then the afternoon pick ups. Hubby and I were going to split it, but that hardly seems fair now.

Please join me in wishing M. a successful treatment and a speedy recovery.
He was a widower fairly young in life, who remarried in his late 50's to a younger lady. So despite being 72 (or 73?), he has a 15 year old son.

Botanically, they are fruits. Legally, however, they are vegetables for all tax purposes in the United States. The Supreme Court said so (and they're never wrong ).

I don't understand why our Founding Fathers passed the buck to the Supreme Court on that one. The Constitution should have clearly specified whether a tomato was a fruit or a vegetable.
