Well my plan to "get up and stay up" today is a big ole fat NO!

I didn't get to sleep until after 3:00, and got up at 6:30. I'll be back from the work/school run by 8:05.

Then I have to pick up my Auntie for 9:30, and we have to go to the lawyer's office (for the new NGO in Africa).

In a perfect world, I will be home by 11:00.

It's also the cleaning lady's full day here (8 hrs vs. 4), so I will have zero chance to nap on the couch. Ergo, I might as well crawl back into bed for a full hour or so, instead of 20 mins on the couch.

All in favour, say AYE.

Or "like".

I need new friends.

Most of them don't work - or are off for the summer - and they put me on a stupid group text where they are all planning to meet at the beach today. I don't care what time you are going, I don't care where you sit, I don't care if you can't find each other. I'm sitting in my office with my back to the window pretending it's raining like I do every Monday through Friday during the summer.

Recently, I heard on the national news report about the summer mayhem in Chicago. Good grief. I hope things get under control, and the city gets back to normal. Chicago is a wonderful city with many positives, and recent incidents could tarnish its reputation. As is usually the case, it's always a minority of misfits wreaking havoc. Unfortunately, those types of stories always make the headlines.
Most of this is happening in certain areas of Chicago not normally the areas that I visit. Taste is starting a big honkn group of green visitors for 5 days *holds breath*

Amen! Good for her.

Have you looked at your campus? Any reports of when they will get all that damage restored? Some of that looked pretty extensive on campus.
All buildings are repairable, and they hope to have the dorms ready to go by move-in day. The Engineering Hall they hope to have ready by the beginning of classes, and the stadium is hoped to be ready by the time school starts, too. However, they are making plans in case the stadium is not ready and they need to use other facilities to host games.
