My goal is to take him down by noon tomorrow.

Unfortunately this is an unbelievably unrealistic goal, and I shall be left disappointed. But I'll cheer myself up with a Sharknado marathon and a snack of rhubarb.

I still believe that someone made a mistake and that the death could have been prevented. Above all else I value human life. If it can be preserved, that's how I believe it should be. I take the death of an innocent very seriously. They are investigating what happened, but seriously, all those adults, with phone alerts, surely someone would have thought, "Hey, we should get these kids inside?" Someone made a mistake. They should be well-trained enough to deal with that situation, especially since you could tell it was coming. It came up quickly, but there was at least an hour warning.

Perhaps you recall, I was off from May 2012 until the end of January 2013, worked four months, and am now off again until the new year probably. Hubby's site should be done by the end of September. He too, will then be off until the new year.

Would be nice to take off for 6-8 weeks at a time, not just 6-8 days. Eventually, we'd like to become snowbirds, spending six months (less a day) down there.

Obviously we're not going to buy from the internet, but will use one of the realtors up here that specialize in Florida real estate. I would be quite happy in a townhouse or a 2 bed/2 bath apartment style condo. There is a lot to be had for less than $100K.

Again, just talking. No plans for at least a year.

In our business, we get paid half of the commission after the deal is firm, and the other half when the house is built and the deal closes 1 - 2 years down the road.
Assuming everything closes on time, we are looking at a very pretty June - August next year.

Well you guys must have learned to follow a budget.

I've followed condo's for a while now as that is our plan to have a condo down there. I'd likely come up here for the summer months and winter down there, or that is my dream and I am getting closer and closer. Watch the cities you consider and the towns that boarder, there are some real dicey areas that crime flows over to. Read the police blotters from the areas you are considering. As much as a house or a townhouse is more my style we will likely opt for a condo as they are more secure when you are gone for months at a time. The Orlando area is a goofy area, it reminds me of Chicago some good and some real bad. When my son was in the college program he was in the older section. There were shootings around his gated complex a regular basis so it comes very close to Disney at one end.

We didn't have any tornado warnings when we got our tornado a couple weeks back, even though they knew heavy storms were coming. Then they didn't sound the tornado siren because they sent the weather spotters to the north of the town. The bigger tornado (that was a couple blocks down the street from me) hit in the south of town, and the smaller one hit in the north of town.
