Our winter was very harsh here and so much plant life was lost. I have not seen a mature tree lost but many of the Maple trees branches that were are 3" or less froze and split. When spring finally arrived the splits started dripping maple syrup everywhere. Messy Messy

Y'all shoulda' held some plates of pancakes under those branches. :hungry:

I want your life - if a toe injury is the worst pain you've ever experienced.

- I've had two babies.
- Five root canals/crowns.
- Five minor surgeries, including wisdom tooth removal.
- One more-than-minor surgery - hysterectomy and removal of endometriosis.
- And one fairly major gynaecological surgery which involved two surgeons, five procedures, and 4 1/2 hours on the table, 4 days in hospital, a return trip to the hospital, and twice daily nursing care for more than a week.
- I've broken 6 toes, and 4 fingers (3 @ the same time, which required an orthopaedic surgeon to set, and 4 weeks of physio.)

And outside of the hospital, I've never taken anything stronger than Tylenol 3 in my life.

While I was working in the backyard yesterday, I became aware that my toe was throbbing, but so were a whole lot of other parts of me.

It wasn't until later in the evening, once I stopped moving that I looked at it. It was throbbing, red, swollen and warm to the touch. Just like the previous 6 times.

No worries. I'll live. And you'll surely hear more complaints in the future over hangnails and paper cuts.
Calm down Jennifer, I wasn't implying that there weren't worse pain in life, I was just commenting on the fact that to me, a broken toe would be very hard to not notice at the time. Even if not your worst, it still does hurt.

And to further complicate this answer.

Yes, I have had two babies. I never felt a thing. My wife, being whiny anyway, did put up a bit of a fuss though.:grumpy:

No root canals, one crown.. no pain involved:)

Wisdom tooth removal, yes, four impacted ones. Never even took the pain pills they gave me.:arghh:

I would have had gynecological procedures but they told me they didn't have enough to work with.:angelic:

Six broken toes? Four fingers? My goodness woman are you just a walking accident looking for a place to happen?:jawdrop: I did, however, break the little toe on my right foot running to a bunker in Vietnam. I remember, to this day, forty years later, the exact moment, reason and the remaining two weeks until it stopped hurting and had set itself in a slightly crooked angle. It hurt like hell.:in pain:

So it was, I thought, a reasonable question. Are you sure you didn't get stung by something? I heard that the bugs in Canada always say sorry, after they bite you, eh? A deer fly could do that to you without you knowing and rubbing it against anything can cause swelling, pain and hot and red areas. That's were I was heading.

Anyway, whatever it was, I hope it stops for you soon. Seems like you have enough going on at this point.:)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I was just funning with ya.

You can actually see in the photo that there is some bruising.
Might have happened in conjuction with the cut, but I don't think so.

So, I was in South Beach and I noticed all these people walking around in cosplay uniforms. After awhile, I finally asked if there was some kind of cosplay party going on or something. It was a ComiCon convention at the convention center. I got there as the convention was ending for the day, followed everyone to the after-parties, stayed up all night, and made it first thing Sunday morning for the last day of the convention!

At the convention (on Sunday), I bumped into the legendary STAR WARS author TIMOTHY ZAHN! I posted a picture of the autograph he gave me on the Spirit thread. We had a very interesting conversation about the new Star Wars movies. See my post there to see what he said!
