I just read that. I also can't believe people are standing around for hours waiting for a possibility of a chance of riding a kiddie ride that opens officially in less than a week.

...and then whining about not getting to ride it.
I'm reading that thread and its amazing how a few small group of entitled individuals have to ruin the thread and the ride for everyone.

One clown with his clearly personal vendetta against one leaker in the forum.
then we have the entitled ones claiming they should have kept the walls up...etc..
insane!
:bored:

I think it was Saturday when I walked past the 7DMT. What struck me odd was the fact that they had stationed about 6-7 cast members in front of the entrance, like it was Fort Knox or something. What the heck were they guarding? The ride wasn't even open (I saw a sign that said May 28th). I didn't see guests lining up either--just curious looks of guests walking by.

The way Disney presents itself these days is peculiar, at times . . .

56 here and raining on and off. I hate you.
It's also supposed to be beautiful through the Memorial Day weekend... normally Memorial Day weekend is always rainy and crappy and puts a damper on everyone's plans. Maybe that helps?

Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
At the time my DD attended Tulane, N.O was not exactly a hub of wonderfulness. The police were being investigated for corruption and crime was high. She actually spent most of her time on campus and only went outside if she was with a group of people. In fact, I had to convince her to go to Mardi Gras during her last year because I thought that as she got older she would regret not at least witnessing it once. Wouldn't you know it, she had her pocket picked and lost $20 and her Tulane ID. She also had her Credit Card stolen out of her purse while in the library on campus. By the time she noticed it was missing, they had managed to charge over $1000.00 to it.

She called me one evening and told me that someone was shot right out in front of her on campus apartment. I told her that she could have gone all day without telling me that story. My parental instincts were kicking in and telling me to find a way to protect her, but, she was in New Orleans and I was in Vermont.

We did have a good time on Parents weekend and at Graduation. My 77 year old mother came with us and she had a great time on Bourbon St., we did a dinner cruise on the Natchez side wheeler, ate lots of great food and even went on a boat tour of the bayou complete with gators, etc. Amazing City, but, I still don't know how anyone manages to live there year round.

Yeah, a lot of the ickiness was washed out of that area along with the bad politics. That is not to say stuff still doesn't happen, it did down at U of I in the fields of corn and soybeans. My DD was offered over a 90% scholarship to Tulane of the $55,000/per year so it was really a tough, hard decision for her.
