Ok - thanks for asking! His back (he says) is better but I can see he is still in pain. But he is moving around and it does seem to be getting better each day so I guess we just have to be patient as it is a slows process. He's definitely recovered from the reaction that had him hospitalized. We have dinner at his mom's on Thursday so I'm going to pick up a cheesecake on the way.

2 years when we were pricing vacations it was only $100 difference overall between POR and WL. The deluxes were (I believe) 30% off and the mods 25% off with our PIN so we went with WL.

Glad he is improving. My back took forever and I am very careful what I do to it, ya never know but I never deliberately do anything bad. Yay for him getting his Cheesecake!

$100 difference I'd go for WL too but POR will always be my heart. We have enjoyed AKL especially their pool area with the very good QS right off the pool deck and the ducks swimming in the morning but the rooms in the main building were nothing better than POR aside from the balcony over the pool, that was nice in the morning and evening. We've stayed there in the summer months so the pool made a difference to us.

those areas looks really good! we might try getting a room in the Bayou area or Royal area on my next trip! :p

Agree, I was scratching my head at the comment about the TVs.
At most, these tvs are just to kill a little time between park trips and maybe watch the weather.

The Murphy beds are relatively new in the Bayous to accommodate the 5th person. I wish they would have just remodeled the rooms when they went from the trundle to the Murphy's. Nothing flows right in the rooms since they did this and the furniture doesn't match, they butchered the rustic theme of the rooms and it left nowhere for the TV's. If it was just the TVs it be OK but right down to the curtain by the bathroom to rugs it is just hodgepodge.

The rooms without the Murphys at FQ and Mansions the TV's are not awkwardly mounted. Should have bit the bullet and just remodeled the rooms, the majority of the furnishings have been in there since 1992 so it isn't like they were not depreciated out.

(Side note: This is my 1,000th post!) :D

Tower of Terror — twice as scary!

TOT has always been one of my favorite rides. Got to the Studios early one morning and just walked on it with no wait. Ride was hilarious as usual. At the end, when it stopped, it got dark except for one light ahead. Then the beginning audio tape started playing over again?! But, we weren't moving. Ride was dead (no pun intended).

After sitting there in relative darkness for about 3 minutes or so, finally, we heard a voice on a speaker say they were turning up the lights. A technician walked by the side of the car (there was a little open grate on the side of the car, so we could see him), and he told us they were going to tow the ride backwards and then we could walk off it. It was bizarre being towed (like a car that broke down . . .). They then had about 5 cast members arrive, and they wheeled over a stairwell to the elevator "car" so we could exit the ride.

It was fun seeing the basement of the attraction (I love behind the scenes stuff), and we were led up the back stairs, and then over to an elevator. We could either leave, or they'd let us ride again--99 percent of the people wanted to ride again! It was great—a double TOT ride in one morning!!! :joyfull:

Oh how fun. My DS got stuck just before the drop. They were held captive for almost an hour and then escorted through the ride. He got to see basically how everything was imagineered, worth the hour.

Saw this one on the news today. It has a jaw the size of a large dog but nastier teeth.

I tried to refrain from using one of Wisconsin's amazing beaches. Didn't want to make anybody jealous.

Some of the beaches are so beautiful in Wisconsin. I did a two week wilderness canoe trip down the Wisconsin River, it was amazing if they only had hotels on those sandbars where we camp'd or at least a restroom.

Being stuck on a Frozen ride where you have to hear Let It Go over and over is probably worse than IASW.
This week my mom was substituting for seventh grade, and ALL OF THE CLASSES watched Frozen. So she spent about 5 hours listening to the movie. I started randomly humming For the First Time in Forever and was promptly told to stop.

well in my case.. that is usual every holy week.
the lowest education and income mexicans go out to the beach and wreck everything. (including random car crashes due of driving drunk)
not fun.
We usually just lock ourselves down in our areas until the crazyness goes away

We have that around here during the summer months. We have picnic shelters at our schools and parks. Come Monday mornings the maintenance people are picking up everything from male 'gloves' to dirty baby diapers. They are not our residents but they are public places they commute to trash. The garbage barrels are not even close to full but opt to wreck everything just 'cause they can. I can't wrap my brain around it.
