Between the rabbits eating the plants and the squirrels eating the fruits and veggies, we don't have a lot of success with anything but tomatoes (sorry JenniferS). But there's nothing better than that first fresh tomato of the season,
*Wipes drool *
There is no way I can disagree with that. I'm so tired of tomatoes that taste more like the package they come in then tomatoes. There is a farmers market close by to me that has fresh tomatoes quite a few months in the summer due to the longer growing season down here.

I love farmers markets. I don't mind paying a bit more than at a grocery store, but the quality and freshness of native grown produce is unbeatable. Plus, buying from local growers keeps some money in your own community and helps out everyone.

Aside of some great veggies, I also like the personal interaction between the farmers and customers. It's just a nice, leisurely experience. I've had some cheery conversations with some of them. It's really fun!

Push, you are so rude.. you could have helped the poor undecided horse to select the best donut combo!
he clearly was very confused on the choices!.

We used to have a big vegetable garden, but we've made that a lot smaller now, and just stick with flowers. These guys can't wait for the veggies...

are these wild bunnies?
When we bought this place, the 4-tiered retaining wall planter bed was resplendant with hostas.
I hate hostas, so I promptly ripped them out and planted myrtle/periwinkle.

On Easter Sunday, when I went crazy cutting down trees, and ripping out shrubs, I decided to rip out the now-tired, unhealthy 12 year old periwinkle.

And what shall I replant in those beds? You guessed it. Hostas.

Its the circle of liiiiiiifeeeeeeeeee...

I got some really good news today - a financial blessing that I had already claimed.

Time to get out there and continue to bless others.

Very cool! That is indeed a wonderful blessing! :)
We, especially recently, know from where you speak. Along with having my old job back, two other things that we would have never imagined 5 or so years ago have happened. We are blessed and we have indeed spread the blessings! :)

@NYwdwfan, I don't know if you'll see this in time, but NFL Network is profiling the 2004 NFL Draft right now. The main focus is the Eli Manning fiasco and him not wanting to go to San Diego and how it affected Manning, Rivers, and Roethlisberger.

Properly slicing deli meats is an art. This has been mastered in many N.Y. Delis. I've bought corned beef, and pastrami, sandwiches in various other states—but their delis don't compare.

I don't know where the N.Y. deli owners get their deli meats, or how they slice them; but in my opinion, New York is the undisputed deli king. I rarely visit N.Y., but when I do, I make a beeline for a great deli experience. :hungry: And no, I've never been able to finish a whole sandwich--I always take the other half with me!
Oh, and don't even get me started on their scrumptious pickles . . . :hungry:

I'm not even shy about coming home from NYC and jersey with ten lbs of deli meats, a few dozen bagels, and whatever I'm not familiar with from the local bakeries. I got this sweet bread with sesame seeds and honey from a Turkish bakery in Clifton and it was just about the best thing ever. Also, cream cheese and spices follow me home  I had two coolers full of meats last time...and a pizza. :hungry:

I remember that vividly. Many people were judging Eli and his dad for that decision - but having watched his dad play for an awful Saints team I could understand and sympathize with his motivation.

I never had an iPhone. I was stuck with a BlackBerry that would not die for a while. @Uncle Orville couldn't break that thing if he tried.

I got a converter thing so I could plug the iPad into the Bose dock and use that for music.

Apple is known for making it a giant pain in the *** to move over to another brand. I'm done with them because of that once the iPad dies.

I had a Crackberry Torch 'til about a year and a half ago when I got my current iPhone 4s. DWifey recently got a 5s. I want, too. :)
