Don't kid yourself, it's not all that big down here in "murica". Mostly in the south/southwest. In the majority of the other states it's just an excuse to get drunk. BTW, if there were no Cinco de Mayo day those same people would still be out getting drunk but instead of calling it Cinco de Mayo they'd call it Monday.Cinco de Mayo is not really a thing in Canada, but I would assume it's a lot like St. Paddy's Day, where once a year, everyone indulges in stereotypical Irish behaviour.
I'm pretty sure most mean no offence on either occasion.
Welcome back! I went to my favorite lunch place - you may not have these in NY.

Jesus drank. I followed his lead.so.. any excuse is valid for drinking I suppose?
I made that at home last night, except we didn't have any peppers around, and we had tomatoes and salsa too.I always get some sort of fajita in a burrito with chicken, peppers, onions, guac, cheese and sour cream. YUMMY.
Hail is terrible, but I do enjoy watching a storm roll through at night.Just heard that strong storms and large hail are possible tonight. Woohoo!
Usually the hail doesn't do much, expect for one storm we had in 2010 or sometime around there. I think I posted pictures from that at one point in this thraed.Hail is terrible, but I do enjoy watching a storm roll through at night.
I thought my photo for the Postcard Photography Contest was pretty good. Then others posted their pictures, and I have now lost confidence in my success this time around.
I just noticed you turned your "well-known member" upside down. And since how long have you been a premium member? I hope I'm not just first noticing. There are some really good shots in this week's contest ...however one in particular screams Photoshop (increased saturation...especially in the greens!)
