Wow. Don't remember you ever posting about that before. So sad.

Most of us who've been here for a while are pretty used to it. We've been back here for 38 years, come August.
I actually mowed the yard one time last year in 106 degree heat. I hydrated (and yes, no beer, actually;)) before, during, and after. I really can't explain it, but it sometimes is very exhilarating, kinda' like a sauna, actually, as long as you continually hydrate. Can't stress that enough. :)
Or.....I catch myself on a brain-numb high and the hydrating saves me just before I heat stroke, maybe...?! o_O :D ;) :)

Yeah, it was horrid. They ran out of room in the morgue and they brought in nearly a dozen refrigerated semi's to deal with those no longer with us. It took several days for city services to catch onto the problem. Duh. After that they came up with a 311 system for assistance.

From my understanding people who live North and move South need around 2 years for their bodies to acclimate to the heat and humidity. As much as I hated that most of our winter was below freezing and a good chunk well below freezing, I still walked the Pup all but 3 days where the wind chills were like 40+ below zero. Little by little I could tolerate it. Well, tolerate it unless I was snowblowing and the wind was blow'n it back at me.

Poor kitty cat is sick. My mom's taking her to the vet tomorrow, which I would do if I didn't have to work. Don't think it's anything major (at least I hope not) but still. Feel bad for her.

Awe poor kitty. Hope kitty will be OK. I think my Pup has a cold or allergies. He keeps sneezing. I never heard him sneeze before and he keeps sneezing. So odd.

Fry up your hamburger with taco seasoning. Spread taco sauce on a premade pizza shell then add your taco mixture on that and cover with shredded cheese. Bake until shell is hot and cheese is melted. Cool for five minutes then add salsa, shredded lettuce, sour cream, chopped tomatoes and more shredded cheese. Cut into squares.
that is funn.... wait a sec.. are you for real?

Here's my version:

The exact same except without all the extras. I'll just stick with the beef, cheese, and shell. I'm a plain guy when it comes to my toppings.

Burgers: Cheese only, but bacon is good too
Tacos: Cheese only
Pizza: Depending on where it's from, but my two favorite pizza places are extra cheese

:hungry:

why cant you accept that you're in love with Cheese? ;)

Just out of curiosity do you ever eat hotdogs on July 4th?
No, nor don flags..etc..
also the 4th of July of the US is not even comparable to the 5th of May.

our independence day is in a different month and day.
Mexicans we are just "proud" of the 5th of may.. but we do not celebrate it wildly like the US counterparts.

at most, there is no school but thats it, no fireworks no nothing like that on the 5th of May.

Also, since when you need a special day to eat hotdogs, margaritas, tacos..etc..? :|

Yep, as much as we are in the same country, it DEFINITELY seems like we are sometimes in completely different worlds. All good, though...we can all pick whether we want to to freeze, scorch, or...find some way to be able to afford to live in Cali....!!! :joyfull: :D ;) :)

Since we are sharing what we had for supper/dinner, I must confess that I did not go the Mexican route.

I had chicken souvlaki on a pita, with Greek dressing, tzatziki sauce, crisp lettuce and red onions.
NO TOMATOES!

It was delish!!
Well, its not like people are forcing you to eat mexican.
also sounds like you had an awesome meal regardless! (funnily, I never tried greek.. I might try someday when I go to the US, since there is nothing where I live)
