This is the small Nissan hatchback in the States:

We never got either the March or Micro here.

Back in the early 80s, we lived in Scotland and had an Austin Maxi. I couldn't believe that we didn't have either the Maxi or the Mini in the USA - seemed crazy. 25 years later the Mini comes to the US and has become insanely successful. Why didn't I invest??

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I know...a day late, but....dinner is nice and at the table - could be any time after noon, supper is any meal in the evening. At least that's how we roll here.
I sent my brother a text today, inviting him over for "supper"; so clearly, if I don't think about it, supper is what I call the evening meal eaten at home.

However, we go out for dinner.

There you go - clear as mud.

Mr. A is an now an assistant principal. I have a lot of respect for him and I think the kids do also. I can only imagine how good he was in the classroom (I had his father as a teacher!). Mr. M is in my doghouse right now. Made promises he didn't keep, making decisions based on politics over people. Typical things that tend to turn good people into bad administrators.

But enough of that. Happy Tuesday!
Mr. A is an incredible teacher. How many Biology teachers have actually been genetic counselors (although his daughter was born in the middle of the genetics unit, so he took off...but anyway). He took so much time with his students to make sure they understood the material. He taught AP biology to Freshmen and had a 2 week cram session at his house in the summer. If that's not dedicated I don't know what is. We had seven people, male and female, named Alex in the class that year, so sometimes he would call out "Alex!" and hoped one of them would answer. He nicknamed them too. My one friend who was a female Alex he nicknamed Fred. Funny, great teacher. He also did not care when I went to WDW middle of the school year (and is one of the few people who knew that I went there on a yearly basis).

I also had Mrs. A, though she wasn't nearly as good a teacher, though she's a very nice woman. 2/3 of the science teachers I had at DHS were excellent. Chem teacher was nominated for BCPS teacher of the year, and rightfully so.

Was Phoebus still there when you were? He is one of the best teachers I have ever known, but I understand he got a little grumpy old man toward the end of his career...

That's how I felt about Tesla when their stock boomed. Could have paid some things off with the profits.

Yes, @brifraz and I both graduated from Hollywood Studios High.;)

Trust me...it was nothing like Studios when I was there. Late 80s....still had smoking on campus, there was a lot of dealing of acid and cocaine. All those bad scenes of HS from the late 80s in John Hughes movies (and others) I think were based on @StarWarsGirl95 and my HS from when I was there. During my senior year, they banned smoking (it had been illegal at schools in the state for a few years, but we were a hold out) and started to clean things up. Much better now than it was then (based on my last few visits). Still not Studios!!

You're right. The Studios is a much bigger mess!

I've been told that was the purpose of the breezeway...when I was a freshman we had a smoking corner across the street from school. We got a new school resource officer my sophomore year, and suddenly the smoking corner disappeared. The school never lost its nickname from the drug years, and many still think that there is a ton of drug dealing there, though I never was offered drugs and only knew a few kids who ever did drugs.

Hey @brifraz, I was just in an old thread (checking on dates, actually), and I noticed that we both posted reviews of the Fantasyland Expansion on the first page of that thread.
I was in the World Nov. 9-18/2012 (and then again this fall). Did our 2012 trips overlap perhaps?

We were there Nov 21-24. That was a great trip. Trip report is here (but pictures were in the old format, so it is just a text report). http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/live-from-thanksgiving-at-dw.856131/

The stories I could tell.... I have never indulged (much to the surprise of many), but boy was it rampant during my years there. The stairwell at the end of the 3 story portion that at the bottom is right next to the auditorium lobby was an open market. You could get just about anything there.

Every morning and afternoon before and after school, I hung out with the group of art/drama/music kids on the cement patio that is on the front side of the building next to the library. There was a lot of smoking there, but I did not join in - playing low brass instruments and smoking have never gotten along well.

I will never forget being in PE during my junior year when the cops showed up to PE looking for a kid because they had just raided his locker and he then tried to run and we got to enjoy watching him get taken down. Turns out he was the main cocaine supplier for the school. Certainly a unique moment in my HS career!

Oh wow. Yup, it's much better now! Although me and my asthma did catch a couple of kids smoking in the stairway in the newer section in between classes once...
