We got very mad a Verizon a few months ago...okay, I got mad, I was dealing with a customer service rep online. Basically, I told them their prices were outrageous and we would be switching providers at the end of the month. Switched to ATT. I like dealing with them SO much better.

Um...wait for it. AT&T is the devil. They'll screw you over eventually.

Well, yeah, but with an iPhone I'd like to use the features of a phone.

Like (and we, both being old enough to remember a world without cel phones can agree on this)...being a good PHONE!

(which, the iPhone is not, but Droid phones are worse...)

Oh yeah, this is true. We had AT&T when we lived closer to Madison, and when we wanted to cancel, we had to give an arm and leg to do it. When we kept saying we didn't want their service anymore, they kept charging us months afterwards. I forget how it ended, but it wasn't pretty.

Hell, I had 360k in various ISP/Cel service contracts with them, and they provided me crap service (not just cellular). My account rep was awful, their service was terrible...

I dropped them last year, and I didn't even get a call from them to see why.

No contract, no way to screw. Actually, they've gotten better over the years. Their pay as you go is exactly what my mom and I need, and it's fairly cheap. My dad has no phone. Granted, they're not perfect, but Verizon...ugh. We have their cable service too. It's better than the alternative, Comcast, but they've infuriated me a few times.
