Me too, many times! <grin>

Earlier tonight I was beating my head against the wall because I couldn't get sound from my speaker system and I was trying to watch Planet of the Apes (the reboot...which is terrible, for the record)...

Yeah...somehow I'd muted my system volume.

Derpy derpy derp derp...

I had a problem one time where I was on MS Word and I couldn't figure out why it kept spacing over. Turns out I had something sitting on the space bar.

Ahh, I see. Then you probably don't want to pencil and notebook. And I type fast, but I don't like all of the formatting issues you come across when taking notes by typing. When I hand write I can do whatever I want. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper, too. :p

Nope. No pencil and notebook for me! The only exception would be math. But I don't have math this semester.

On a regular basis, I wonder why I'm not hearing sound on my computer until I remember that the headphones are plugged in.

A rundown of my technology:
- 2009 Compaq laptop
- 2nd generation iPod Touch (can't really download any apps since it's so outdated, but I use it for music mainly)
- A year old smartphone that ceased production shortly after I bought it (which means very few accessories to go with it)

Good grief.

My iPod is a 4th generation touch that I got two years ago (I can trade it in and get a newer one), my laptop, as I said, I got in December, and my Android I bought in October but replaced two months ago under the warranty.

I don't use my iPod for much more than music anymore. And my laptop, there's nothing wrong with it (well, besides a broken screen, but I'll be getting that fixed soon). And then my phone, I can't switch that for another year yet, but it works fine.

One Little Spark...
The reason is I had a car accident a year ago and injured my back. I was in physical therapy for a few months after. To prevent further injury, I'm trying to minimize my load. So I'm considering a tablet so I can use it for e-textbooks and for note-taking. Also because I type WAY faster than I write.

I have been using computers since I was 4 years old (my first one was a TI)...

The long and short story was that my mother is into them professionally...I grew up playing with punch cards and sitting in cold server rooms as she did installs. There's a lot more to it, but I won't get into it (oh, and for the record, my father is an attorney as well.)

I can barely write anymore...I know it sounds terrible. I type around 105 wpm...

Sad...just sad...to see me try and use a pen anymore.

Thank you. Originally I was going to pay for it myself (remember the car accident? I was alone, not at fault, and got settlement money) but my parents said something while we were away about possibly paying for it. Depends. I also need a new iTouch and a GPS, so we'll have to work it out.

I'd drop the iTouch. Just move to an iPhone and you're done, with more features.

Typing is just easier once you get used to it. After the summer is over, it's hard for me to write as well!

The issue is the plan. I pay $25 a month for my phone, which is a decent Android with no memory space. I add and remove data as I need it. The iPhone requires a data plan and costs way more per month than my current plan (pay as you go). Since I have Wifi just about everywhere I go, I don't see the need for the iPhone. My iTouch has gotten the job done just fine. I use it mainly for music, games, and watching movies. And some reading and internet

iPhones didn't even work here until Verizon picked them up. Around here it's mainly US Cellular.

We got very mad a Verizon a few months ago...okay, I got mad, I was dealing with a customer service rep online. Basically, I told them their prices were outrageous and we would be switching providers at the end of the month. Switched to ATT. I like dealing with them SO much better.

Verizon is insane. But around here it's either that or US Cellular. AT&T doesn't work well around here. Another win for small town Wisconsin! :p
