Our schools offer Spanish, German and Chinese.
My middle school offered Spanish and French. High School offered Spanish, French, German, Latin, and Chinese as well. We even had an exchange program with China, so every year we'd get Chinese exchange students, which was neat. My cousin up in PA has been learning German in school and got to go to Germany on an exchange program over the summer. Actually, she was in Germany while I was in Hawaii, so we talked over Facebook on a 12 hour time difference. So incredibly weird

You shop at Goodwill?

Cute!

For each article of gently used clothing you donate at the store you are given three 25% off coupon good on regular priced clothing or 20% off sale clothing. The shirts I wear during the summer were already 25% off, then and additional 20% off.

Jammie were on clearance 50% off and 20% off. Got to love a 70% off high quality stuff.

I love arguing with my now ex boyfriend at 11:00 at night. Over him not getting his crap together and once again he flips it and makes it all about me.

This is so no longer my problem. I'm done.

Glad I won't be able to sleep tonight. Pretty insulted that he's snoring in my living room. He has a lot of nerve being able to sleep right now.

So. Frustrated. Never dating again. Someone please order me the crazy cat lady starter kit.

I do. I'm on the front lines at work, I see the same groups of people every week. I have to "compete" with the women and it's kinda stupid. I don't want to be seen wearing the same thing every week. They aren't, but they're dumb for paying full price for everything. I buy a lot of shirt and skirts at thrift shops. I've repurposed long sleeve shirts into tank tops and skirts into dresses. It helps to know how to sew :) I'm not embarrassed by it at all. I find it a welcomed challenge.

Plus, I wouldn't be able to constantly update my wardrobe, just shopping at department stores. This way, if I buy a shirt, wear it once, hate it, and dump it into my donation box, I still got my money's worth. I do draw the line at under garments and pants, but pants only because I'm extremely picky about them.

I agree about the sewing. I am very good at it. When one of my Grands immigrated to the US she found work in a sweatshop making dresses. When I went off to Catholic School, the jumpers started at size 6. I wore a 4 toddler at age 6. She ripped the whole thing apart and altered. Mine looked better then the kids who wore off the rack. My Gran taught me to sew. It helped with altering the kids stuff over the younger years, they were very thin. Example, jammie waist lines were too big and too long.

I would make very elaborate Halloween costumes for them and my DH & Me as we always have a Halloween party to go to. Now I custom make my drapes in my home, they are beautiful and would cost a fortune custom, so I am the custom person. I also bought a table that is raised bar stool height and it is a large square, 2 chairs each side. It is hard to find table clothes for so I alter those too. It leaves me with enough removed material to make a table runner to put food on top of.

I've taught my DD to sew, a legacy that continues. She at 22 is quite the quilter, one pretty standard and another quilt made out of beach towels from her swim team days. That sucker is so heavy I have to take it to the laundromat to wash it. Sewing is a dying art, wish it wasn't.

For sure!! My job isn't messy (unless you count that time the printer toner cartridge exploded all over me and my desk...my boss sent me to Macys with his credit card to replace my outfit!) but again, same ppl all the time. And those folks make easily two, three times as much as I do. If not more. Gotta cut corners when possible.

I've found lots of clothing with store hang tags still on, including a gorgeous black and lace ruffle dress that was $169.... I paid $5 for it. :)

Two of the clothing items I donated (gifts to my DD that she wouldn't wear, gift receipts people) had tags still on them. One sweater was only worn once. It had a bit of wool it it which I didn't realize. Allergic to wool.

Although, I'm not on the front lines, but, in the design trenches, instead, I am still occasionally called upon to meet with clients. Thus, I wear slacks, a dress shirt, and dress shoes almost all the time. Most at our firm wear jeans and everything casual. I used to get almost everything at Wal-Mart, but, have gotten everything since I started workin' at the mens clothing store from there at a massive employee discount. Even now, just coverin' those occasional closing shifts, he still gives me the same discount. DWifey is the same way when it comes to clothes, yet she constantly gets compliments on her attire by customers, coworkers, and management. To us anyway, spending tons of money on clothing that doesn't really make a major difference in overall appearance is just ridiculous.

I love good clothing. Most of my clothing is moderate to high end. I am a skilled shopper. I usually at this time of year purchase classic slacks and sweaters a good department stores at a fraction of what they normally sell for and cheaper than I would pay at Walmart or Target. Here Lord & Taylor and Carson's are the best places to purchase the out going seasons clothing. Today I needed shirts for summer, my coupons I received for donating to Goodwill on top of the 25% sale price still brought the shirts down below the prices of Walmart. Last November on the clearance rack I bought my son with my donation coupons and clearance prices, 5 Under Armour polo's that he loves for $5.50 each. You just have to have patience and know when to shop and put it away for the next season.

My weakness is shoes. I blame my Mom for that.

Ours is right next to the main university here. You can always tell when classes are about to start because they buy up all the furniture, etc, for their dorms/houses. When classes are out for the summer, you can find just about anything as I don't think the students take anything home with them. We bought an almost new mini fridge for $20.

On Move Out week it is amazing what you will find out at the curb. When I picked my son up for graduation I had him pile everything he didn't care about in one pile. We loaded all the stuff first in my truck that was to come home. Then I picked through what we would keep and what went into the dumpster. We left behind an old fashioned 35 inch TV on the 3rd floor landing 'cause he and I couldn't carry it down. Sure someone was surprised, it worked fine.

All of my DD's stuff came home. I could open a Target/Ikea outlet out of my storage room. I have good wooden tall shelves, a desk, 2 Ikea chairs and ottomans, end tables, night stands 2 large mini fridges with separate freezers, clocks, mirrors, many kitchen appliances, 2 keurigs, lamps, tool sets, oh my the list is endless. All the furniture is Ikea and black stained so they can pick and choose if they wish someday. Some stuff did make its way down to Florida.

It did amaze me what kids tossed and what I tossed on move out day. None of my sons linens came home and only my DDs feather pillows and blanket did.

Busy day. Busy homework evening. So busy that I missed Once Upon a Time, my favorite show other than Big Bang Theory:banghead:. Going to get up early (9 am) and watch it before going to school (12 pm). Assuming there is school. More snow is coming.

We missed this storm, only a dust. South of us got nailed. Come'n your way.

So sorry. Hope this is the last night he is on your couch.

As I'm typing this I can't fall back asleep.

Checked in just before 1 yesterday, ended up getting a handicap room. Didn't like the one sink and switched to a better room. Then booked FP+ for MK (hate FP+, but the bands are actually pretty fast moving). Got on BTMR, PotC, HM, CBJ, TTA, CoP, and that's it last night. Tomorrow/today is Epcot in the morning.

I guess some relatives are coming from WI to meet up with us for a few days starting Wednesday. Totally random and surprise thing that started when they called to ask us where we were when we were near the bottom of Georgia. That should be fun with FP+. Plus my mom got an email about FP+ BoG stuff but we don't know if we can add them to it or not.

Anyway, that's about it. Supposed to storm tomorrow but that's the only projected bad weather for the week.

PS- Had Casey's for the first time last night, wasn't impressed.

See ya later folks!!

My mom taught me and her mom taught her at age 9. I was about that too when I learned to hand sew. Mom bought me a machine at age 14. I still use it today.

They're not made like that nowadays!

My sewing machine is about 20 years old and works fine. I recall my grandmother's old Singer machine; that thing weighed a ton and came inside it's own wooden table. Hers was indestructible, but I actually prefer a more lightweight, portable one. I've moved about 6 times over the years, and she lived in one house her entire adult life. So, a portable was more practical in my case. It won't last as long as my grandmother's did, though. ;)

I'm not sure anyone likes FP+...

You should be able to add your relatives. You might have to have CM do it, but there should not be an issue. I could be wrong, but when I was there, on our last day I couldn't make FP+ for my friend, but I could for myself (It was odd) but could for myself, so I did it and the day of had them copy it to her. I guess it depends on how many people we're talking about

Thank you! There's a good chance that next time I go to the pet store and go to pet the kitties who are there for adoption, they'll all be coming home with me. All of them. Every last one. I'm all but convinced animals are better than people right now.
