I'm baaack sort of! :) I had an illness that came on Tuesday afternoon and by that evening I had gone downhill fast. I got out of bed, well I fell out of bed because I couldn't move my legs and couldn't get off the floor. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital where they found I had a severe internal infection with a high fever and the swelling affected my lower limbs causing sciatic nerve pressure. I was released late last night after the fever broke and the infection was under control. (I pretty much remember 20% of the last three days. :() I have to use a walker for now until I can regain strength to walk on my own. Slow road back but I'm on it and my engine is running. :geek: My daughter logged in to play a few games and read but with an IV in one wrist and an oxygen monitor on the other I haven't been on until now. Soo I will probably be giving out some likes while catching up.

Sending healing wishes your way. Your illness sounded dreadful. Let's hope you have a speedy recovery.

It's so quiet around here lately. Do I really smell that bad?
It's amazing how laying in a hospital bed and not being able to wash your "pits and cracks" will make you smell. I took two showers last night. Well one was from projectile body fluid :depressed:, but the other one to was off body funk was a blessing. (So glad there's grab bars in the shower.)

As I always say, "It's just a cold. I'll live."

Now, a paper cut I can whine about for a week.

Paper cuts, no problem.
A slice in a cornea is bad enough. I once had a corneal abrasion that was a nightmare from hell. My GP patched me up and it didn't work so well, so he sent me to an opthamologist the next day (the whole time I'm in hell and can't sleep 'cause of the friggin' pain - goin' into REM sleep state is impossible) She finally gave me a little pain relief, put some ointment in my eye and tightly patched it. She told me to go home and pretty much pretend I was blind for 3 days. She wanted me moving my eye as little as possible. I took the patch off in the shower the morning of the third day before my appointment and started to panic. All I could see outta' that eye was a white blur. I was terrified. Fortunately, it was just the buildup of ointment in my eye, but, it still took a week to completely clear up.
Never wanted to have to experience that EVER again, but, about a year later...
My eye had gotten dry overnight and some of the scar tissue had peeled back, and here we go again...
I haven't been without eye drops ever since. At home, at work, in my pocket.
BTW...
My regular vision is 20/20.
Close up is a different story, but, drugstore cheaters work just fine. :)

Hey Sir, I'll take whatever I can get up here! Did you notice it was a wet Hidden Mickey on a dry side walk. That means I wasn't chopp'n ice or shovelling snow today!!!

Tomorrow: Weatherman said Snow, Ice or Rain or all of the above. Joy Joy Joy :(

Don't blame ya' after y'alls winter.
It was cute, and glad ya' didn't have to chop or shovel, for once. :)
Hopefully, y'all aren't gettin' slammed too bad today, either.
Although temps are pretty mild here, we are gettin' some much needed rain.

I’m sorry for my typing oversight. I should have been more careful checking the spelling of your name, and feel bad if this has caused you any inconvenience.

Just went back to my post of this morning and edited the spelling. (First, I even tried to delete the entire post, but I couldn’t find a delete, or delete post function; the only options were edit, reply or reply & quote.) So, that’s all I know how to do at the moment. (I share the computer at home and my time is up for the night.) But if you know how I can delete the post completely, please reply back, and I’ll look for your reply first thing in the morning, and I’ll delete the entire post if that's helpful as well.
It's no biggie at all....just making small talk really as I it's still ironic that a misspelling of my online name was actually a member at one time

Oh my! Glad to hear you're better and hopefully fully recovering, soon!
This reminds me of myself last June about a week after we got back from WDW.
One day I'm in the ER with pain and fever, the next I'm bein' put under for the first time in my life for an operation for an infection. The operation was the easy part...the next 3 weeks, not so much, but I soldiered through. ;) :)

Mike Gordon... He's the bassist of a jamb and called Phish. He also has his own band. It was great!

Little did I know that the place we went to were notorious for very strong drinks. I was pounding cranberry juice and vodka... Had three of them, double each. What I didn't know is that their idea of a cranberry vodka is a double shot, so a double was...four shots. I had three. And topped it off with a blue moon because why should I see double when triple is possible? This is why I'm hungover.

I did record video of some songs on my friends iPhone but I'm retarded and can't figure out how to upload it.

So instead, here's Eric Cauldron doing a metal version of "let it go" ...and sorry to those who are sick of this song. But this is quite awesome. :)

Edit, I tried to correct the "jamb and" up there to jam band, but the iPad isn't cooperating and I've tired of fussing with it

Loved that!!! :joyfull:

Here's one for @JenniferS... :)

I thought it must be something serious for you to be away that long. Hope you feel better soon!

Hope you get better quickly!

So sorry! Was wondering where you got to. Feel better soon!

Get better soon! I recommend a diet of rhubarb to get you back up and running.

I am not a doctor. Do not listen to any medical advice I offered above.

I saw this on Big Bang Theory last night when I got home from the hospital. :D I needed that laugh.

I've never seen an episode of that show, but, that's just some silliness I've said for years now. I always pulled it on the kiddos when they were way younger and always got a "DaaaAAAAAaaad!" :D ;) :)
Worked with the younger CMs at The Disney Store too, until they FINALLY caught on and would say... "Steve. I see ya' got ALL of your hairs cut!" :joyfull: ;) :)

Funny the part of being in the hospital I didn't mind was for my MRI. They said it would be a 45 minute process and I could listen to music. They asked me what I liked. I told them metal but I knew they wouldn't have any so rock is okay. They put the headphones on me and rolled me into the tube (just enough I could tilt my head up and see out) and they started the test and music. I got to listen to almost all of Metallica's Black. That MRI flew by.

After a month-long absence, I will resume my bowling adventures tonight. Life is good.
What's weird is it was exactly one month ago that I went bowling. I was going through texts between my friend and me and I noticed the last talk of bowling was February 8. :cyclops:

Just wanted to share this thought before I log off here (time for dinner!). As you're aware, you may need extra time to get back to feeling 100%. A few years ago, I was ill with some mystery illness; it took me about 4-5 weeks to completely recover. I came back to work too soon, and one of the nurses in our office could see that I was pushing myself too much. She told me, "Sometimes you need to go slower, to move faster." Sounds odd at face value, but what she meant was that she's seen patients over the years, that tried to get back to their normal routine a bit too quickly. Then, they'd end up taking even longer to heal. So I just wanted to pass this along to you, as I know how frustrating the timeframe can sometimes be, when you're trying to get completely well. Hang in there.

What did they do to make him contemplate leaving? Giving up tenure in a district is risky business these days.

Sorry for the delay responding - had to get to bed early last night to Polar Bear Plunge today.

Giving up tenure is very risky. Promises were made and broken by our administration. "Improve student enrollment in music classes to a point where we have to hire a chorus instructor." I got 80+ kids to sign up for chorus. We had an overall increase in music enrollment of 40%, 380 kids to 530 kids. Those numbers would dictate that we would move from 3 teachers to at least 3.5 teachers. Nope. And as a result of not increasing staff, we have to cut other programs (can't cut the chorus because 80 kids signed up) and combine other classes - my favorite part of this is the class of 37 drummers that the administration proposes. This is just the latest in 8 years of a similar approach (across two administrations, the last one of which was sued by the Music Boosters over another issue). A person can only be treated unprofessionally and with total disrespect for their work for so long. There are other schools out there. Hopefully I can find one with integrity.
