Thanks, this makes me feel better. I'm still going to get AAA to tow it tomorrow, but this car has a history of bad sensors. Like the fact that every time I turn it on it tells me that there's low engine coolant and low oil pressure. The dealer verified bad sensors. I just ignore it rather than pay the repair bill. Between the leaky sunroof, the breaks, the sensors...I'm guessing I won't be driving this car by this time next year. It's a shame; it's fun to drive and I'm attached to it.
This should put you more at ease about the ABS light:

Yes, I mean Hawaii itself. Oahu is never referred to as the "big island"...

They are a south of Captain Cook, as I understand it.

Ah okay. Just clarifying since you called it the "main island". Some people get confused, but I should have known better since it's coming from you;)

My young uncle (closer in age to me than my father who's his brother) and his wife took their honeymoon to the big island. They loved it there. Such a different feel from Oahu. It was really secluded and they loved it. My grandfather and step grandmother also went out there a few months later and had a wonderful time, though since he has MS, he had trouble getting around. I hope she gets to go see the lava on the big island. I can imagine she'd love it if she hasn't done it already. Sadly, I've only been to Oahu and Maui when I was a baby.

She went two years ago...so this won't be the first time.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. My mom knows more about what could be the issue than I do. She read the manual and it said to get it towed just to be on the safe side. Considering MD roads and that the dealership where we would get it repaired is 30 minutes away, it's better to be safe than sorry, especially since the tow will be free with the AAA membership

If we go to Hawaii, I probably won't take her to a tourist destination like Aulani, nomatter how well done, as she has volcano walkers, surfers, and general slums in her extended family...just like if we went to Oklahoma I would take her to the reservations...not just do the touristy stuff...

But, it looks like a really great place to me!

I don't blame you on that one. There is something to be said for a natural experience. I'm just a bit spoiled with luxury hotels.;) Of course, you could do both!

I did not like Waikiki last year when we went because it was so touristy. I got sick of seeing shop after shop after shop after shop...my parents loved it and told me I was crazy until we met a family staying at Aulani who said the same thing as me. Aulani is nice and out of the way. Just much more relaxing. Though the surrounding area has very little in the way of restaurants and such.

My aunt and uncle rented a house when they went to the big island. Gave them more of a taste of the real Hawaiian lifestyle rather than staying in a hotel. Not to mention privacy...it was their honeymoon after all. They loved it.

So excited!

AP scores came out just now (advanced placement if you're unfamiliar, college level courses taken in high school). And...I passed all four and will get college credit for all 4! Total of 12 credits for this year, 15 completed over high school! It also means I can take the semester off for the CP and still graduate on time if I choose. :D

EDIT: This also makes me an AP scholar with distinction!

Now how do I tell my parents? I'm thinking emailing the screenshot to my dad so he sees it when he opens the email at work tomorrow...

Meh...

I scored a 1350 on my SAT...did that make me brilliant? Did it guarantee me college acceptance?

Good luck with whatever you choose. Glad to hear you scored well!

It guarantees college credit and saves several thousand dollars.:) Checked with my college's credit policy last night.

And thanks!

Do you get retrocredits (free credits) for foreign language at your college? I received a high score on my French placement test and placed into 4th semester French (which I ended up skipping anyway since I had such a high score, I ended up taking another French class). Anyway, I got 16 free credits.

We don't take the SAT for Wisconsin schools. We take the ACT. I got a rather low score of 21 (not terrible, but the average for WI was like 23). I remember the reading section, the lady said there was 5 minutes left and I still had two essays to read and fill out questions for. :p I decided not to pay the money to retake it, because I knew I'd be accepted to my school with that score. Plus I had a good GPA from high school. ACTs are kind of a joke, IMO. They only matter for getting into a school, and then they're meaningless.

The Spanish one is going to be complicated with placement I believe. I have to call my advisor on that one. I get credit and placement into upper level Spanish, just don't know exactly how it works.

In MD we had the option of the SAT or ACT. I took SAT because I did well when I took the PSAT (practice SAT). I did absolutely no studying and still did really well. Some kids took the ACT and SAT. Some took the ACT. For whatever reason, some prefered one test over another. I took the SAT twice and scored similarly on both, so I was done after that. The SAT scores help, but then so many kids stress out over them or just don't test well on them. My college uses them for placement and for the honors program (which I made), but other than that. The good AP scores will get me so much farther.

It's kind of impossible to study for the ACT. You never know what's going to be one it, and it focuses on everything you should have learned already, so it's not like you can learn it again in a couple weeks.

Here, ACTs are mostly just used for college acceptance. Then we have to take another placement test for math, English, and then foreign languages are optional. Although I know of one guy who didn't have to do placement tests because his school just used ACT scores if they were high enough.

Exactly what my physics teacher said to us when a lot of kids went to SAT crunch. "You know it by now or you don't." He was right.

I didn't have to take any placement tests, thank goodness. English they automatically put me in the honors college one. I don't have math for this semester. Most of my classes are for my degree program.

I made a 30 on the reading test but I only made a total of 22.

Yeah, my scores were weird. I got a high score on the English/language portion. I had an above average score on math (which is surprising because that's one of my worst subjects). I did average on science, and I was below average on reading (ran out of time). I don't understand how I ended up with a below average score overall with those. There must be a weird scoring method or something.

I'm retaking it because I know I can make a 26.
