Clever boy.
Yup, pretty much. Or, "that girl", since I'm female
Because I got my glasses to help with migraines, our insurance covered my glasses and my doctor's visits. My brother's vision therapy was also covered. Geez, dental isn't covered? That could get expensive for kids who need braces...Sorry. We actually have to pay for our hearing aids up here.
Heart attack? Cancer? Broken leg? You're covered.
Glasses, dental, hearing aids ... you're on your own.
Ambulance ride - $65. Unless you croak; in which case, it's free.
Ann Marie!!!I love That Girl reruns.

PS- I didn't actually read the article. I just typed "rhubarb" in Google News out of boredom and found that headline.
I got glasses because of migraines as a child and it wasn't covered. And my braces weren't covered hardly at all by our dental insurance. It'd be nice if they were. Neither are cheap! Especially when you need new glasses every year or two like I do.Because I got my glasses to help with migraines, our insurance covered my glasses and my doctor's visits. Thankfully I never needed braces; my teeth are perfectly straight, as are my brothers, but both of us need glasses. We're both slightly far-sighted. I've only had mine for six months (perhaps that's why; laws have changed since you were a kid). Before that I had them in middle school and freshman year of high school, but stopped using them. But boy they've made a difference now. I'll probably go get my eyes checked again in two years or so. I believe the exam for me is covered (once a year, I think). The glasses we get 10% off if we buy them directly through the eye doctor/hospital (which we do). But still, frames are $150+ dollars and I typically use them for about 2-3 years. Then the lenses on top of it, which I have to get almost every time because my eyes just keep getting worse and worse for some reason. I tried contacts before, but my doctor said I'd be able to wear them three or four days a week at most because I have allergies in my eyes. I wish I had 20/20 vision! Life would be so much easier/cheaper!My glasses and exam are covered. Although I wear contacts 99% of the time and those and exam are OOP.
I got braces in 7th or 8th grade and got them off my sophomore year of HS. My brother had them in middle school, got them off his freshman year (?) of HS and then needed to get them again because he didn't wear his retainer. My parents weren't too happy about that. I don't mind wear my retainer while I sleep (I was supposed to wear it 24/7 for the first year after I got the braces off, but my orthodontist told me they looked good and I was only wearing it at night! ). Now I wear it about every other night, and I have a permanent retainer glued to my front 5 or 6 teeth on the bottom. Makes brushing, etc a bit annoying, but it keeps my teeth straight!Thankfully I never needed braces; my teeth are perfectly straight, as are my brothers, but both of us need glasses. A...minute?I love signs
We have one in our Walmart, too, but we prefer the hospital. They are SUPER friendly and helpful, and they'll try to get you the best deal possible. My current pair of glasses I got about a year or so ago, and after the first time I cleaned the lenses, they put a big scratch right where I look out. We went back to see if they could do anything, and they ended up reordering a new lens. It was my fault (although they shouldn't scratch by me wiping them with a cloth), but I got a new one free of charge. I don't think we'd get that service at our Walmart.Amen on that. My eye place is in WalMart but he's the best around.
Yeah, but how much will a heart attack cost you?I believe the exam for me is covered (once a year, I think). So glad I never had to go through that. My best friend had horribly crooked teeth, had braces through middle school and most of high school, and still has to wear a retainer to bed. Another one of my friends had the head gear in elementary school, braces in middle school, and braces until we were high school juniors. I felt really bad for her. My worst problem tooth-wise has been that the grooves in my molars were too deep, so to prevent cavities, we had to have them filled. No matter how well I brushed, I would have gotten cavities. I've had one or two since getting them filled, so not horrible.I got braces in 7th or 8th grade and got them off my sophomore year of HS.
