Please, no.

Also big this spring and summer is the nautical look. Sailor tops with anchor designs and those stupid looking sailor hats (women's) and lots of red, navy blues, off whites and stripes. Also skin tight faux denim capris. I have a few friends in the industry who've already started with this nonsense. One wears a rope belt ("but I bought it, it was $30!" She whined) with the awful anchor print top and I almost lost my lunch.

Just take a rock and beat me to death with it now, please. I can't take it anymoreeee.

Oh Dear! Who pays $30 for a rope? Nobody looks good in the fake sailor attire. Bet it was the spawn of the Sperry Top Sider shoe fetish the last few years.

High waisted pants/jeans do not work for the vertically challenged or those of us that are short waisted. You sit down and the waist of the jeans is up to your chestage. Who wants jeans that button across your rib cage?

For $30, that rope better have a really good steak tied to it. o_O

Hmpf. High waist-ed jeans are suppose to make their return in the Spring 2014 line. Something tells me the young are not going to give up their low waist jeans.

This young one would say you are right! No WAY! ABSOLUTELY NOT! They would be horrible on me since I'm short, so they would make me look even shorter a very busty. No. They make that girl look like her butt is bigger than it is and that she has a pooch that she does not have. No way.

The men aren't expected to join in on the high waist fashion trend are we?

I really don't want to emulate Clint Eastwood's style at my age...

Or the characters from the movie Her...

That movie made Johnny Cash and Star Lord look like they should be questioned on an episode of To Catch a Predator.

The ranch would have to be moved and some other amenities
Overall site plan with DVC building in red and pools in blue. Note guest parking and Pioneer Hall to the right.

No matter where they put it it will alter the feel of the area and change the night and day time feel of the area. You can't put that many high end resort guests and mix it with tents, cabins and motor homes and not have them class.

After staring at this, I just couldn't help get a thought out of my mind. If they go through with this DVC expansion, then where is the "wilderness" in Fort Wilderness anymore? I just don't get it.

And no offense to anyone, but the 80's were not a wonderful time for fashion, though a bunch of great movies were made in the 80's so the lack of fashion sense is forgiven

Sadly the 80's fashion spilled into the early 90's too before it righted itself. Ahhh those days of big hair and big clothes. I was very thin and this big poodle hair the oversized sweaters and legg'n pants, well I look back at those photos. Ewe. Fortunately my photo's with my DD are much nicer than the ones I took with my DS. Amazing what 5 years can do.

Ft. Wilderness is huge. There are only small areas that would need to be relocated and they have the land for it.
The area they are looking at is pretty much empty minus the horse area which they can build new elsewhere.
Remember you have the abandoned River Country water park area too that they will tap into.

I really wonder if this will be the next DVC. I thought this would happen over the Poly DVC, Disney seemed far more prepared to move forward with Ft. Wilderness over the Poly. I wonder if the Volcano Pool and the Great Ceremonial House issues pushed the Poly to the front of the line. The GF DVCs are not selling as well as Disney anticipated. Ft. Wilderness DVCs were first slipped in 2010, more in 2012 and now more so it seems they will do something eventually.

The Poly is a favorite hotel to lots of people. I would expect great numbers sale wise but not occupancy with the bungalows. One of our "insiders" said one night in the bungalows is about a week at the GF, DVC point wise. I don't know much about DVC (except that I'll never afford it!) but I can guess that ...that's a lotta points and money per night.

I'm not too happy with DVC going into the poly....if I was booked there this year, I would switch Reservations to another. What's the point of paying $500 a night if you can't have dole whips by the pool at 3am? :/ not to mention all the construction!

I thought a Poly DVC could change my mind about a DVC, that moment fleeted when I saw how this DVC addition was going to change the entire resort dramatically. GF lost lots of guests during DVC construction spill over there, discounts were inviting to non DVC guests who otherwise couldn't afford a stay at the GF any other time.
Likely that will be the guests hang'n at the Poly over the next year or two. That place is a mess. At least GF DVC construction was off to the side of the resort, though they did work on some dining spots and their pool. The Poly is different, this is disruptive to the entire resort. Resort occupancy is down to almost the level of 9/11, so many now staying off sight and splitting time with Uni resorts. I would have closed down the Poly for a chunk of the construction. They could plow through it quicker.

Absolutely right. And not tick off resort guests in the process with closures, detours, and noise.

Yeah, but think of all the money you can save not buying push-up bras.

True story...
My folks have lots of pecan trees, etc., in their yard. Understandably, squirrels are all over 'em like...squirrels on pecan trees. Pop had set live traps for many years and then would release them down the road. We went over for Sunday dinner one time and things smelled so good I lifted up the pot lid and thought that was some awful small chicken. We got to the table, said Grace, and then pop picked up the pan and asked DWifey if she'd like some squirrel! She almost wretched. Pop, myself, and one of my brothers ate that thing to the bone. :hungry:

Background: My folks were both raised on farms in south-central Texas and ate almost everything off the land. Also, they love my DWifey to death, but, if it ain't store bought beef or chicken, she's out.

Boy it continues to amaze me how much your sweetie and I are alike. Food must not resemble what it was in life form.

I'm sure you'll still see a random armadillo or raccoon. Do they have skunks in Florida or do they all visit my area in the summer?

On Tuesday night I was heading out to a town meeting around 6:45 PM, dark about an hour. Out of town square a squirrel ran and I mean ran down the iced up sidewalk out of the park and crossed the street and used the crosswalk into a residential section, continuing to use the sidewalk.

I have never, ever seen a skunk in the middle of 5 foot snow banks. Never saw a skunk in the winter and we have had a lot of them the last few years. Ask the dogs in the neighborhood including mine.
