Hmpf. Bad day at Busch. A bucket ride from the Fire Department isn't how I'd want to spend my day.

Cheetah Run?

How bad is it up there? It switched to rain here 30 minutes ago and the roads were just cleared. I have a feeling I'm going to get a call to come in for a half day now.

Coming to you direct from the 'bullseye' of this storm... Manchester, Maryland (about 45 minutes northwest of Baltimore) has 17 inches of snow on the ground and another 4-6 projected the rest of today. Right now there is a little sleet mixed in which should keep us below 2 feet. Hopefully.

Got about a foot of fresh snow. Problem is running out of places to put it!! Seems like it started changing over while I was out there. Gotta go back out to do driveway but wanted breakfast first. Hubby went to work. He couldn't shovel anyway because of his back but at least he's not playing "foreman of the shoving job" now.

It's been snowing big flakes here all morning but nothing is sticking. I think the forecasters were right with their "under one inch" tally for us, today. Thankfully we dodged the bullet on this current storm.

How are you guys faring? I don't know if the lines are out or what's up, but I can't get ahold of fam in Clifton to see what's going on there.

I hope you don't get called in. You could always accidentally turn your phone off until tomorrow morning...

Someone with a snowblower cleared all the sidewalks near us. That was nice. Never happened before.

After 2010 when we got 4 feet in 5 days everything seems to pale a little in comparison. Granted, back then my back was 4 years younger and we weren't about to have 30+ people coming over for a party in a couple days. Here's hoping the plate of brownies we gave to the neighbor with the snowblower is still paying dividends.

The shore is getting a lot less than everywhere else. We probably had 4 inches before the switch to rain. Now it is just a soupy few inches of mess in the areas that were clear of snow. Lots of heavy wind though. Papers went flying when my gf opened the door to go to work.

My boss went in on time and saying come in if you can otherwise work remotely. I have a Jeep so he assumes I'm raring to go. If the old guy in a Mercedes coupe can make it, I can. I told him I'm more worried about everyone else on the road losing control of their cars.

Although I will test the roads in an hour anyway when I deliver my gf her pork roll, egg, and cheese for lunch. But my boss won't know about that.

Slovakia has a lot of good NHL players (including 6' 10" monster Zdeno Charra) and they beat the US in Vancouver. But they didn't have a good day today.

When Chara was drafted by the Islanders the sports reporter wrote, "he looks like a block of granite and skates like one too". That always made me laugh. He was not very good as an Islander. He, like many players, found himself after he left them.

I'll take one of those for lunch too. It's just a little out of the way. ;)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
((hug)) If you were close, go see him or you'll regret it later. If he's just another relative (we all have those), just keep his memory.
It's a cousin's husband, that I used to see a couple of times a year, but for the past 10 years, I have only seen him at weddings, funerals and once at the grocery store.

Had a long chat with my aunt this morning; apparently NO ONE is expecting me to pop in. As much as I have shared with you guys, you can imagine how much more my family understands how I feel.
