My neighbors dog just attacked mine while we were outside shoveling and playing in the snow. They don't have a fenced in yard, and the idiot. Teenager let him out. He ran out of the yard, across my carport, down the driveway and attacked my dog in the garage. I hit it with a shovel. Twice. Then screamed bloody murder at both dog and teenager.

Not how I pictured my morning. :/ hope you guys are all keeping warm and... Don't have to travel in this mess.

We were supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow all day. We got 5 already and it's only noon....

My mom's neighbor has a dog that just hops right over the fence when my dog is there. It's not a dangerous dog, but it plays rough and my dog is 9 and is getting too old for that bleep. I'm surprised they gave up on trying to train the dog not to. It hopped a fence I to the street one time when I pulled up.

My dog should be very happy tomorrow when I pick her up and take her somewhere she can BM in peace.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
10-15 cm of snow, my hiney! 'Cause that's how deep the drifts are.
The regular snow is to the top of my boot, but the drifts really are up to my butt.
Still coming down and blowing like crazy.

And to top it off, my brother wants me to drive him out to the reserve to buy smokes. "The roads are fine. Plus you got snows", he says.
Yeah, well more importantly than snow tires, I've got common sense! Oh, and he needs me to lend him $60 (which will soon become $80, if not $100).

My dog was attacked when she was a puppy. We were at my grandma's house, which was about an hour away from where we lived at the time, and it was nighttime. My dad went to let my dog outside to do her "business", and the neighbor's dog started running to her. Mind you that this was a large lab versus my little half shih-tzu, half poodle. My dad yanked her up to his arms by the collar, and my dad's finger got a little nick taken out of it. A little later, I noticed there was blood on my dog's thigh, and it turned out to be a pretty big gash. She had to have emergency stitches put it. And it was on the weekend at night, so it cost extra for the vet to come into the office.

When a neighbor's dog attacked and injured ours they weren't very apologetic but at least paid our vet bill.

Another neighbor's dog was friendly with dogs and people, but would still scare them by taking a standing leap over a 4 foot fence to escape from its front yard. I've never seen another dog do that.

Have you EVER known a dog owner to admit that their dog started ANYTHING?

I love dogs, but dog owners can be pretty myopic when it comes to their dogs behavior.

You COULD have increased your post count by 4 but now you only got 1.

OK, I've seen this 'post count' comment several times now. You've been around here a little bit longer than I have, so I've gotta ask...

What is up with building up the post count thing? I'm missing what the ultimate "bling" of high post counts is.
Help!

There is absolutely no merit to having a high post count. In fact a lot of high count posters used to have a much lower post count on the old forum because ChitChat posts did not count in the total post count.

When we moved to this NEW forum I was quite surprised how my post count jumped DRAMATICALLY.

Maybe it's a guy thing. You know, size matters, and all that ....

Me, I'm more into the "likes". I need my ego to be stroked.

I had a German Shepard that could take a short running leap and go right over our chain link 4 foot fence. She learned to then open the gate horse shoe latch with her snoot so we put a bolt in the lock hole. She learned to ram the gate until it fell out. I put a crokay U in the hole of the latch, she learned to push it out. She'd visit neighbors and go play with other dogs in the neighborhood. One day she leaped the fence into neighbors yard to play with her and then opened their chain link fence (know it was her not the other dog) and the two of them took themselves for a walk. Neighbors nephew found them a mile away standing at an intersection waiting to cross the road. Like they were waiting for the WALK indicator to pop. As she aged she couldn't leap and I ultimately bought a chain to go from gate post to fence post so she could only open the gate a few inches.
She missed her calling, that Shepard had brains, she should have been a service dog or something.

As my second career I started my own business and it relates to dogs. Some of my customers flat out tell me stuff others do not. But when I inform them that Fluffy just acted like freak'n Kujo most are shocked. Others then admit Kujo doesn't like that. About 5 years into my business I ran out of tolerance for Kujo's. If they want to be Kujo fine, but you are expelled from here. Bye Bye.

Thankfully my dog is ok. Otherwise I would have kept hitting their dog with a shovel. Size be damned, it was attacking my baby. :(

She got a spoonful of peanut butter on a doggy bone, and has forgotten the whole thing. I wish I could.

Six inches of snow and counting, it's still coming down. The roads are a mess and people are actually on them! What the hell? :/

I'm having a bedroom redecorating day. So far, it looks great. Made new curtains for the windows, working on some wall art now. I love snow days when I don't have to leave the house!

Poor baby. I'd do the same. My Walt is like one of my kids and you don't mess with the Mamma's kids.

I just came in from digging out again. Within the day we should get another 4-6 inches and the deep freeze where we don't come out of the negative degrees should start tonight so digg'n is going to be a bite. I need to hit some store 'cause I'll give the kid my 4x4 for work next week for a few days and hide with the Pup in the house 'till Wed or Thursday.

Thanks! While your post count is dramatically higher than mine, I don't think it is way out there as you have been a member for ever and a day. Me, only a couple of years. I just wasn't getting what the fuss was about.

Poor thing. I have a 100# lab Pup that I ferreted out from Wisconsin. She was from an obedience line and I met both the parents to see what to expect. You just never know what you're getting lineage wise from newspaper ads and Puppy stores. Gamble. You might pay a few hundred dollars more from a real breeder however over 10-15 years of life, money well spent. Genetics count.
