I know that absolutely everyone has been on pins and needles waiting to hear if I went to see Saving Mr. Banks and, if I did, what did I think about it. Well, if you all can tear yourself away from whining about the cold weather, I will tell you.

I hope that I don't accidentally include a spoiler since I don't even know what a spoiler would be for this movie. We've all seen the Mary Poppins movie and characters for so long, that there are hardly any surprises, but, what I did find was that I totally went from an almost hatred of Mrs. Travers, to feeling sorry for her and her inability to flex even a little. The movie doesn't show that, but, rumors of her after release opinions do. By the end, I found myself feeling sad for her and the cause of her perpetual stubbornness and bad mood. The character of Ralph, in my mind, is one of the more crucial ones in the movie, yet there is hardly ever a mention of him when someone speaks of the film. I just fixed that.

Emma Thompson did a good job of portraying a person that none of us really new intimately. Tom Hanks did an even better job, IMO, of making me forget that he wasn't really Walt Disney. He was pretty convincing and had a tough character to really put a finger on but he did very well. A little exaggerated at times, but, seemed right on at others. Moral of story... I recommend that anyone that likes Mary Poppins or Walt Disney or both, should see this movie. Very well done.

Actually it WAS a new record low. We will end up having 60 hours of temperatures not breaking freezing. That in itself is unheard of around here.

Wow. I've seen many pictures of how beautiful it is in Alabama and I've always imagined it having just picture perfect weather.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
3, maybe 4 new mice in the trap.
Apparently $5 trumps nature-loving son's natural instincts.

Being disposed of as I type.

Quoting my own post, forgive me!

There is at least one new mouse in the trap. Are you kidding me?

Told my son there's no cash in the next disposal trip. He's doing it for free in exchange for a ride from his buddy's to his girlfriend's.

Man it sounds like there's a huge mouse party "in" your house,
Perhaps, the mention of Mickey Mouse has sent out an alarm way to often, so they figured that this would be a good place to live. They do tend to travel in packs, but not huge ones so they should clear out pretty quick. The solution is to find out where they are coming in. Once I found the one at my house the invasion stopped.

I have a cold. Stupid weather changes Meg. So I took a cough syrup so I can sleep without waking the house (like I did last night) and then saw a Disney commercial on TV. So I've been shopping online with reckless abandon for things I (for some reason) now think we will need but in the morning will realize we most certainly do not. Oh well - I got free shipping and can return to store so no harm, no foul.

There should be a PSA - friends don't let friends shop online while medicated. o_O

I liked this post as soon as you blamed Meg. I didn't even bother with the rest, but I liked the rest, too. Just in case you were curious.

Since I know you are all avid Madden gamers, I decided to share this little story here. I am playing as @NYwdwfan's Jets, and I'm in my second season. I play on offense and simulate the defense. In my first season I had an elite defense, but the offense couldn't do anything. Though I kind of purposely played poorly so I could fire Rex Ryan after the season; it just didn't seem right firing him if we made the playoffs. We went 9-7 that season. I had a couple of decent free agent pick ups, and a good draft, and I actually started playing to the point where I would actually win. I'm two games into this season and am 0-2. I have scored 30 points and 40 points. I lost both games because the defense can't stop a nosebleed. So the moral of the story is, if you don't try, you will win some games; if you do try, you will fail in the final seconds because your defense isn't capable of stopping anything. I blame Meg. Rant over. Carry on with your Sageteer duties.

While I appreciate your playing as my Jets, you should know, they only cause heartache. Your experience with them is not unlike mine.

Hubby just bought Madden today. He plays on xbox. Do you play online? He's always looking to play with people from far-off places. He has "friends" from London he plays Call of Duty with. I'm sure he'd like playing with a trash can.

FYI - I went to pick up Son #2 from the girlfriend's house, and lo and behold when I got back ... no more mouse scratching and squealing from under the sink.

In this house, we firmly embrace "Don't ask. Don't tell."

If he followed my advice he can just go retrieve the trap in spring. Dump the remains, rinse, repeat.
