It finally opened? I've been waiting for this moment.

I agree, it's nothing special. But it's donuts, so it must be at least good.
It opened on the 17th, but I hadn't eaten any until today. Yes, it was good, but I can find better and cheaper ones at the gas station.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I liked Tim Hortons better anyway. You aren't missing out on much.

I thought it was cruel when I went to a Devils game and there were Tim Hortons ads lining the rink when there aren't any in the state.
I used to be a Tim Horton's junkie. One a day. Every day. Christmas included - even if it meant lining up for 2 hours. (Can you say "Loser"?). During the blackout of 2003, my neighbour drove to the next town to get me my birthday Tim's.

I would drive there every morning, often in my pyjamas. Even if I was running late for work, I would grab my Timmy's anyway. No way I could face my 70 minute commute without one.

And then, two years ago, I started using our Keurig. Four (yes, 4) Tim Horton's coffees since!

Random thought here... Many of you have been merciless pointing out my advanced age. That's OK, I am what I am, however, while reading all those "cold weather" posts, I got to thinking. I can remember a time when we went as much as two weeks with temperatures in the 15 to 20 below range. I can remember having to use my car, which for some reason was enchanted, to pick up my Fathers employees to get them to work. They delivered industrial heating oil. I can remember using torches to thaw out king pins on the trucks front suspension so that they could steer them, the grease would freeze. They would be out for a couple of hours and have to come back in to have it done again. We used to have loud snaps during that time and it was the ground pushing up from the frost setting in, causing building foundations to flex and thus make that noise. (Not frost quakes, this generation has to make everything a drama).

Yes, it is a rough winter up there and I admit it is memories like that that have driven my desire to live further south, but, really it is nothing new and it isn't even as severe as it used to be. (Remember Global Warming?)

Frost quakes was new terminology to me as well. However, may I remind you that you did have a "frosty" term as well in Vermont back then (and now), and it's frost heaves! (To those people living south of New England, these are probably more commonly known as potholes in the road.) :)

There is a gas station/convenience store chain near me that bests Dunkin as well. I drive past 2 Dunkins to get there, but it's worth it.

I have the Keurig too, but if I'm pressed for time and need to buy breakfast on the go, I'll just buy coffee on the way too. So I wind up spending money for coffee like half of every week because of that.

DD and the gas station are literally a 30 second-1 minute drive apart. Nothing in town takes more than 10 minutes to get to, even if you are on the opposite side of town.

I hate that I was bundled up like the Michelin Man to shovel snow and still have to wear sunglasses because the sun is so bright. Then I get to sweating and the glasses fog up. Why did I bother. :grumpy:

Okay, now I'm scared I'm going to get really fat if I ever move to Austin.

No worries, really no different than anywhere else foodwise these days. Although, as you can imagine, TexMex and BBQ eateries are all over the place down here. But, the weather is also fairly mild, so tons of hiking, biking jogging, etc. mostly all year long. As far as Texas cities go anyway, I think we're ranked the fittest...I think. We run the gamut here. Far right, far left, and everything in between..."Keep Austin Weird". ;) :)
