Having never had a cheese curd...is there any difference in the taste of the curd and of the finished product?
I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean do the curds taste different when deep fried? Or do the curds taste different than normal cheese?

One of my Facebook friends took a trip to WDW over Christmas, and she is posting a bunch of pictures and videos. I usually don't look through any albums, but I always do for Disney.

Frost quakes was new terminology to me as well. However, may I remind you that you did have a "frosty" term as well in Vermont back then (and now), and it's frost heaves! (To those people living south of New England, these are probably more commonly known as potholes in the road.) :)
Sure, but technically, potholes are the byproduct of frost heaves. Frost Heaves are usually what we called the bumps in the road, they were quiet. Frost pushing up your house is called something different. Nothing nice either. It used to lift up one corner of my first house in the winter. The walls would actually separate from the floor to the extent that you could literally slide your hand under it. Also none of the interior doors would close. The reason is because the builders had decided to put a garage in under the first floor. So one corner was above ground and the rest was below the frost line. I thought it was cool at first (moved in in July) but it quickly lost it's sparkle when it started to spit my foundation wall, like you opened an egg shell. And, of course the door and wall thing was not too funny either. In the spring everything would return to their original location, for the most part.

OK...come to think of it (having never had a cheese curd) BOTH
When deep fried, they taste different than non-deep-fried cheese curds. However, cheese curds don't taste much different than normal cheese. Cheese curds DO have a squeaky feel to them. When you chew on them, they make a squeaking sound with your teeth.

There aren't any KKs near me. There are like 3 DDs within 2 miles of me however. Life is unfair.
I live in NC, the home of Krispy Kremes and there are 4 times more DD stores then KK's. Two stores that I know of and those are an easy 20 minutes away. It's OK with me because I don't particularly care for Krispies. I hate messy food, (one of my few flaws) and glazed donuts are messy. I prefer DD that can be glazed but also have a large selection of just donuts. Don't eat but about three per year anyway. At the NC State Fair they have a spot that sells deep fried Krispy Kreme Cheeseburgers. They keep an ambulance right along side it.:joyfull:

I wish I did like them because Pepsi is also originally from NC. I can envision a meal or two made up of Chocolate Frosted Krispy Kremes and a Pepsi. Most, BTW, KK's are sold in boxes at grocery stores.

Krispy Kreme donuts - not so messy if you shove the whole thing in at once!

I am sorry you have not been enlightened to the sweet and savory goodness that is a bacon cheese krispy kreme burger!

(for the record, I am convinced this is where KFC got the idea for the Double Down. :p)
Enough already. I can't take any more.

Next up for me - salad w/low fat Greek dressing and 100g of cold bbq chicken.
I'll spare you the photos.

This picture makes it look better, since it's not swimming in a puddle of grease. Although I'm sure it's still plenty greasy.

One Little Spark...
I am about to start making dinner...had to put away the dishes and do my mise en place.

I am making...

App
Fresh Ceasar Salad with homemade multigrain italian croutons drizzled in olive oil and lightly spiced and broiled. The dressing is the real deal, made with eggs, crushed anchovy, fresh lemon juice and a very high quality olive oil.

Entree
Spaghetti and Meatballs. Not making the Sketti...using the boxed stuff, but that's ok. The meatballs are a veal/pork/beef mixture seasoned with garlic, nutmeg and black pepper. To add some body to the meatball I'm using some seasoned dry bread crumbs as well as fresh white breadcrumbs from freshly (store baked) bread. The sauce is a wine sauce (using Chanti) with fresh pureed plum tomatoes, chopped onion, olive oil and parslay.

Dessert
Peeled pears poached in Moscato wine and glazed with a mascarpone vanilla bean cream sauce.
