I don't really have much to say about WDW, mainly because I hadn't been there in years. I have been to Disneyland far more often, which is why I tend to be more wary of changes there. That's my "home" park.

It is vastly superior for most attractions. The shared ones in Disneyland are all better with the exception of jungle cruise. However, people will always assume you're talking about WDW since the site is WDWmagic
When I did this thread, I was referring to positive news in general, not necessarily to news about WDW in particular.
I meant positive Disney park news.

Orlando parks are so underequipped…that’s the root angst there.
They need the heavy hitter of splash AND new things to gobble crowds. It’s ill advised there.
OR just new net gains. But yeah, exactly.
While I'm not fond of another Disney site that shall go unnamed, there is an article there that does show how "Disney Adults" should not be complaining, that at least some fans just want to have fun and not have it be ruined for them. At least one person in this article (who said he ignored Chapek and just wanted to have fun) said that the problems with the parks were being caused, at least in part, by the fans. No one knows what maintenance is like behind the scenes, this person said; you are only a guest. A few people, he added, have also complained about overflowing trash cans, but instead of complaining, they should appreciate the custodial Cast Members for doing the best they can. "Give them a break," he said. He also argued that lowering prices is unrealistic and would actually make crowds even worse in the parks. This person concluded that if you dwell on the negative too much, then the experience will be ruined when it shouldn't be.

That’s nonsense.
Casual fans aren’t really on these forums…there’s a level of investment that’s standard and explains the expectations.
And we spend the most and still are word on the street promoters

the “why can’t I just be allowed to love it?!?” Is failing adulting on multiple levels.
1. No one is stopping you. Stay off forums.
2. Grow up.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until it Takes.

That’s so true. The old saying of misery loves company is alive and well. For some reason, there are people on these forums who just can’t stand the fact that others are having a great time at Disney. All the labeling and name calling are sad as well as unjustified.
If you feel WDW is no longer a good value or makes you sad compared to what it once was, why not just move on? What’s the point of hanging around a Disney forum if you’ve given up on the place and no longer enjoy it? Even so, you have every right to make your feelings known.
The current form of WDW is not for everyone, and it’s unlikely that it will ever go back to what it was. And yet many people are happy to visit and enjoy themselves. It does take a certain level of maturity to accept this but there’s room for everyone on the WDWMAGIC forum, including - believe it or not - people who enjoy WDW.

It’s been addressed many times. It’s similar to supporting, no, living and breathing a sports team when they’re falling down the table due to incompetent management. You hate the way it’s being run but still love the team.
There’s no doubt people still enjoy it. First timers will probably love it. But there’s many more who remember how much better it used to be. I wrote my recent trip report. I mentioned plus points as well as the negatives. Awesome Planet was great. We loved Enchantment. New security and ferry procedures were very welcome. Rise is brilliant.
The growing tide of dissent can’t all be wrong. As I said, people will still enjoy it. But even I’m surprised at the rising amount - across the board - who find major issue. And for those who love the place it’s annoying beyond belief seeing it happen. Quality and value can be very subjective. But when the same things are being said - right across the web by many different people - something is going wrong.

Yep, that is me in a nutshell. You can no longer plan a good trip to Disney and know in advance that you are going to have a good time...just go and hope for the best.

I agree with everything you've said. I was responding to the person who posted that if you dwell on the negative, it will be almost impossible to have a positive experience. That has pretty much been my experience; life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.
There should be room for all opinions of WDW - both good and bad - on a forum like this. If my post leaned too far in one direction, it was likely in response to those who mock or ridicule posters who have had good experiences and still love and want to enjoy WDW now (not just as it once was).

I understand why those who dislike Disney’s current direction continue to post here, but the quoted is something I’ll never understand. Why pay thousands of dollars to take such a gamble rather than go somewhere you know you’ll enjoy?

Well, as I said in a different post, perhaps this will be a swan song trip that, if it is that bad now, will make it easier to stop going in the future. I have not actually been since 2018 so need to experience in person before I can stop.

No, I have never had a bad trip to Disney. Maybe a few poor experiences but never a bad trip.
Yes, I have seen the perks go away and the money grabbing schemes that Chapek has instituted. It is far past this board that I get bad news and poor opinions about Disney these days. Lots of stuff on YouTube and other sites I visit.
We had a yard sell just yesterday and sold some Disney stuff that we no longer wanted. Some folks who visited saw the Disney stuff and spoke of recent trips to Disney and how poor it has gotten (I did not bring it up). There is no shortage of ill news about Disney nowadays.
I am going to see for myself.

What I don't understand also is the need to tear down people who still enjoy it. There is one poster who constantly calls people who go "suckers". Its almost like they are mad at Chapek AND anyone who goes.

Lol as for good news, take a break. I skipped here for about 2 weeks and it's the same stuff, you won't skip a beat.
