I was at the disney site and saw that I could only book in the resorts until Dec 31 2011. Just a couple of questions regarding that, I am going March 6th-20th 2012 and was wondering how far in advance they go to(When my dates will be available for booking)? and When to book so I get the best deals(How far in advance the deals go usually) I Know this could change Thanks.

I Have stayed off site all the times I have been there so am pretty unaware about the Resorts but have finally decided to stay on site. I also Signed up to the Disney Site So I am hoping for a Pincode sometime(I know its all luck)

I Know that I usually get the best airline tickets 3 months in adavnce. But I watch everyday anyway.

Bonus Question for Canadians who use CAA. I know they have a discount on Tickets just wondering if they get the best deals for rooms as well?

Thanks In Advance

You can book a Room Only reservation via phone 499 days in advance, but the roomprices won't be set yet. You'll get a rate (that is somehow based on this year's rates), and then it'll be adjusted when 2012 prices are set.

Anything online, or package reservations online or over the phone, will become available to book sometime in August.

I spoke to a guy via chat on the Disney website here while back and he also said to wait til August. We're going the last week of March in 2012, so I feel your excitement over wanting to book the trip! :D

We went in January 2010. We booked everything in September 2009.

For our January 2008 trip we booked it in November 2007.

For our next trip, we'll probably book 4 or 5 months out.

I think booking in August would definitely be okay.

It is so hard to wait to book once you decide when to go. But late summer - usually August - you can book for 2012.

We booked our March trip from this year last February or March, so that we could go in to our local CAA and make payments on it when we had extra cash on hand. Also, as a fellow Canadian and CAA member, their discounts are very minimal at best. Even though we have booked all four of our trips through them, we have used a PIN code or a direct code from WDW every time. Your agent will apply it for you if you just give it to them when you get one.

Good luck and by the way....LOVE going to WDW in March (if you can't tell by my signature)!!! :p

You can book now if you like by calling the WDW Reservation, however their 2012 rates won't be available until August 2011 then you will get a notification of rate change in the mail. If you want to book on line, try waiting until August. My experiences with making reservations by phone have not been the greatest with their phone reps. Which I discovered on one my my calls that this particular person was working out of her house as her baby was crying in the background. Since then I truly try to use the online reservation. The only thing is if you later want to change anything on your reservation, it must be done by phone. I would personally wait until August to book on line. Enjoy your trip.

You can always get the better rate adjusted to your vacation package. I've done this before. We booked our trip way in advance, saw a great special offer as it got closer to our dates and called to have it applied to our vacation. It actually got us to extend our trip was a total bonus! I always have preferred calling to book rather than booking online I just always feel like the CMs can see the total picture better and give me all the price options at once. Thats just my opinion. Plus, I love talking Disney with different people and always ask what they're favorite resorts, restaurants, etc.
Happy planning!

Thank you for all the help I will probably wait until August to book. I am deciding between 2 resorts anyway so I now will have more time to decide .

I love going in march as well as it is usually still cold here(Especially this year geesh).

I am going to have them send me out a dvd. There are a few of us going so I can do this a couple of times and hope one of us gets a pin code

Just out of curiosity, which resorts are you trying to decide between?

Caribbean Beach and Pop Century(Or whichever value resort). Cause I just don't know how much time we be spending at the hotel. But the Buses are better at the Moderates so it a matter of money vs convience and we don't know if we are going to have a rental car for the whole trip yet or not. So that might play into the decision

Actually the buses are not better at the moderates. In fact they can be among the worst due to as many as 5 stops at the resort. Pop on the other hand has only 1 stop and the All Stars at the worst will have 3.

waiting can be fun.....right?

I feel everyones pain here! lol Im taking my family from april 28th to may 5th of 2012...i want to book so bad! i even have a countdown timer on my desktop set for august so i can finally book! we went once last april for our first time at All star movies, this time its pop century all the way! until then, were all watching tangled, as well as all the others, cars 2 comes out in june and the lion king on blu ray this fall....so we have our little milestones to look forward to until the booking....its easier than saying "were going to disneyworld in 387 days".....but whos counting?

I can only compare Pop Century to Port Orleans Riverside (both trips were in late January of different years.) I found Pop's buses to be more efficient because we didn't have to stop at other resorts or bus stops. Plus, the queues were more organized.
