I agree that another Yeti, even a limited motion AA, would add to the ride. The shadow projection is not great. First of all, it comes too late. You are supposed to be seeing the Yeti's shadow as he tears the track. The only thing is, that already happened which is why you went backwards and ended up where you see it.

He's tearing up multiple sections of track along the route as you try to escape. You're not watching him tear up the track that you've already seen. He's also standing among torn up track during the finale encounter.

And that animation occurs right before you shift back to going forward. I've always taken it as implying that the Yeti is wrecking the track behind you (when you are going backwards) preventing you from going that direction any more, so you go onto a different track forwards.

Does Walt Disney World have the superior version of ANYTHING? It seems like everything there is dubbed the inferior version of Disneyland's.

Everything is subjective but IMHO it has better verisons of Haunted Mansion, Winnie the pooh, Phillarmagic not shoehorned, dumbo, the treehouse, Jungle cruise, Tomorrowland with working peoplemover, astro orbitor still up top, COP, etc.

NEWS FLASH Animal Kingdom: After locating a reliable Disney source we have found out that after the YETI tore up all those tracks in a continuing uncontrollable temper tantrums they called in a veterinarian who was charged with "fixing" the YETI. Since that visit the Yeti has become extremely calm and docile and just stands there watching a light flash. Problem solved!

Next Problem: It is rumored that severe drought conditions, weirdly centered in Magic Kingdom, have caused the River of America to mysteriously dry up. As a side effect of that it seems that a number of buildings along the banks of the river have collapsed and since insurance is so expensive in Florida they will not be rebuilt. Civil Engineers have been called in to review the situation and rumor has it that it will be repurposed to have something related to automobiles. Probably a parking lot! Details at Eleven.

That's the way I've always viewed it as well.

It amazes me how much overthinking everyone gives a theme park ride. Yes, I understand story and sequence but things like that never entered my brain box. I just assumed that he was still in the mountain tearing things up and never went beyond that. That's probably why I was so impressed with WDW for over 30 years. I just enjoyed it with no expectations. At least up until WDW made it clear that my participation was no longer wanted by pricing me out. I was so obsessed with Disney at one point that my grown children were wondering if an intervention might be necessary. I'm OK now though.
