Underrated: The Wave

Overrated: Almost every other table service restaurant on Walt Disney World property. I would not have said this only a few years ago but the quality of most of them has plumetted in recent years. What a shame. For example I had the surf and turf at Narcoosee's a few months ago. The filets were fatty and tiny and the lobster tail had no flavor at all and it was tiny too. This is the one that finally made us begin eating mostly offsite because Narcoosee's used to be a fine restaurant. The prices have risen ridiculously and the quality has deteriorated at most restaurants in Walt Disney World.

This may not be following the rules... but I would say there's a four-way tie in the Underrated category:
Sanaa
Turf Bar & Grill
The Wave
Olivia's Cafe

We've found none Overrated.

Le Cellier is the obvious choice for overrated, though I still love it.

My pick for overrated would be chef Mickey's. The food is disgusting, and an ADR means absolutely nothing there. We had an ADR and still waited 30 minutes last time.

Underrate would be Sanaa. If it wasn't located in the middle of nowhere, the place would be impossible to get into. The food is fabulous.

Overrated--Scifi and Primetime --both didnt seem to live up to the hype
Underrated--Garden Grill--not crowded, didn't feel rush to finish

I agree with you about GG, but I'm going to nitpick your choices for overrated. One, Sci Fi gets mostly negative reviews. There's no hype to live up to. Prime Time is a must-do for us. But again, I don't see any hype. It gets pretty mixed reviews.

Sorry you had a bad experience at both. I'm willing to bet if you try either one again, you'll have a better experience.

I was going to list Le Cellier as my overrated choice, but by the time I got here it already seemed like the popular choice.

I'm not sure it's underrated as much as overlooked, but the Plaza Restaurant was the most unexpected little gem of a restaurant on our last trip. The food was tasty, though very simple, and we had a great server. I also couldn't believe this tiny, tiny little room had been built in the first place, let alone manage to avoid the gift shop takeover of Main Street for the last 40 years.

Overrated - Les Chefs
We usually ate here every trip, but the food quality and service deteriorated in the last few years. It's just not worth the $$.

Underrated - Citricos
I don't hear this TS mentioned very often, but my meal here was one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was incredible. It was expensive, but totally worth it.

Overrated- Going with most people here and saying Le Cellier . Don't get me wrong the food is good but I expected more with how people rave about it. (We would still go back again)

Underrated- Tusker House I kinda feel like it gets forgotten about but it's one of our favorite character breakfasts. We haven't been for lunch/dinner but would love to try it on our next trip:slurp:

Remembering this is Overrated and Underrated - not Worst and Best

Overrated - Le Cellier, it is hyped to insane levels, when in reality it is barely good. Noisy, crowded, and steaks that are more about the sides and toppings than the steaks.

Underrated - Turf Club Grill - Not a bad place, not great, but solid. Yet you NEVER hear about it. I bet some of you are going to look up where exactly it is :) Other 'hidden gems' like Plaza Restaurant at least get some mention. And places like Tusker House get some draw being in a park. But the poor Turf Club only gets golfers on the LBV golf course and the occassional guest at Saratoga Springs who wanders around the back of the food court when they get lost.

Overrated, IMO, has to be Le Cellier.

Underrated is Kona Cafe, hands down. It has become my all time favorite place to eat at Disney.:)

Can a restaurant with arguably the most talked about and popular breakfast item in all of WDW really be underrated?

Good question. I honestly hadn't thought about Kona Cafe for breakfast. I was thinking about how infrequently anyone seems to mention dinner, which I thought was one of the best meals I had on my last visit.

But yeah, the home of Tonga Toast. Duh! :o

Their lunch and dinner is definitely underrated, I agree. But I don't think their breakfast is.

Overrated - Chefs de France. Horrible meal...very bland tasting everything. Service was extremely rushed. Very loud atmosphere. Smushed in a table in the corner.

Underrated - Kona Cafe for dinner. Favorite meal of the trip for both the boyfriend and I. Did not hear a ton of reviews on the place for dinner as opposed to the ton of attention this place gets for its breakfast. The bread is the best I've ever had. The service was amazing as well. Loved it.

I didnt like it. Thought it was so small that we were sitting on top of each other.

I didnt like it. Thought it was so small that we were sitting on top of each other.

We were the first people through the door at 11:15am and there were only five or six other groups in there through the course of our meal. I can easily see how being there when every table was full would be a little less delightful.
