I would like to correct Marni's statement. I wouldn't tag this incident as a "Security Issue". That makes it sound like a whole-lotta-something that it's not.
It was simply an instance of individuals, non-guests, that were in a place they shouldn't have been at that time. Normally it would be fine, but not during fireworks.
As any Cast Member will tell you, or you can read on the internet...there are many entrances and exits backstage that will put you in a fireworks fall-out-zone. This is the same at Studios, and Epcot. But there is proper signage on all doors notifying you that you are about to enter a prohibited area (fall-out-zone) during fireworks.
No security personnel were there (not even Disney Security is not allowed in any fireworks area [except in rare supervised instances] or fall out zone during show), no breaking and entering occurred, no "scaling the wall" occurred.
Although, I would have enjoyed watching that. :ROFLOL:
