What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Left pilot! Line up behind the pirate ship! We need that shipment of rum! Gunners! Fire the cannons at Barbosa's ship! Engineers! Repair the holes in Jack's ship!

No, no, you're just imagining him yelling that at you....

And why the heck am I even hearing somebody named Hondo when I'm in the MF? Han, Chewie, Lando - that would be great, but no it's Hondo!

Shocked Disney isn't advertising that "Come see Hondo! And Dok-Ander! And Oga! And Savi!"

Nope, just keep banging on the OT nostalgia - seeing the MF set piece, putting it into hyperdrive, Chewie. At least they get it.

Noticeably bigger crowds today now that HalloweenTime has started. All the Halloween rides and E Tickets have big waits, except for the Falcon (duh).

Millennium Falcon: Target Run - 30 Minutes
Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree - 20 Minutes
Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween - 30 Minutes
Haunted Mansion Holiday - 70 Minutes
Radiator Springs Racers - 95 Minutes
Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark! - 100 Minutes

It's a beautiful warm evening in OC, the Halloween Screams fireworks are at 9:30, and you could get in at least two rides on the Falcon between now and fireworks time. Get to Star Wars Land and be immersed! Ahora!

It’s so nice having an e-ticket attraction without fastpass causing longer waits. Thank you for posting this.

This.

I was also going to talk about Pirates having people explain what is going on at each step, looks like someone already beat me to that as well.

Walt famously said that Pirates was designed to be like a cocktail party, where you just sort of drifted around the room picking up bits and pieces of conversation and phrases and it all becomes atmospheric yet illustrative, and you knew exactly what was going on.

Walt was brilliant and instinctively a gracious showman. And Bob Chapek reads his TelePrompter well.

I posted this over in the DHS thread where some folks there absolutely hate it if you mention Disneyland in a compare/contrast conversation about Star Wars Land, but it's valid here too:

Another thing to throw into this bubbling stew of Star Wars mystery...

When Rise of the Resistance opens it will also not have Fastpass. And CM's have reported on another board that it will have slightly less hourly capacity than the 1,600-ish that the Falcon does.

Walt Disney explaining Pirates of the Caribbean on national TV in 1965:

In here we have a special attraction!
People are going to get on a boat here and ride through the Blue Bayou Lagoon.
And then as they get around here we're going to take them down a waterfall!
And take 'em back into the past to the days of the pirates, you know, where the whole Caribbean area was full of pirates and they were always sacking towns and things.
You believe in pirates, of course? Well, do you want to see some? Right over here!

Bob Chapek explaining Pirates of the Caribbean at D23 Expo in 2019:

At Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, it's our mission to bring Disney Magic into the daily lives of families and fans around the world as we create magical memories that last a lifetime.
We know that the millions of treasured Guests who visit Disneyland Park each year arrive with their own story, and with this immersive new attraction we are inviting our Guests to live out their story by embarking on a rollicking adventure that will bring them face to face with challenging confrontations and special celebratory moments for the entire family to share.
It's through this ground breaking storytelling that our Guests will be immersed in a world of beloved Characters they could only experience at a Disney park.
And through the use of not only this interactive new technology, but the equally immersive worlds of dining, merchandise, and the Disney Play App on your Apple or Android device, you will be surrounded by the magic that has made Disneyland Park a cherished memory for hundreds of millions of consumers from around the world.
Thank you. [warm smile]

Disneyland was definitely back to more typical crowds tonight. Still manageable waits from 8pm-12 though for most attractions, so while busy not as busy as it used to be.

I'm curious how the next few weeks ago.

I had a conversation with a few Cedar Fair/Knott's folks recently. They are very happy with their SP sales at Knott's, and the early renewal rate so far. Surveys are showing a lot of Disneyland AP'ers showing they are happy at KBF, especially in the entertainment division. The SP Meal Plan also has been getting a lot of praise. So prices and blockouts has DLR folks either make the switch, or as an add-on for the summer. But they are renewing and saying they have/will drop the DLR AP.

I think Disney has reached a price point that has made people think twice. The new Flex Pass is $600 or $200 a month for a family of 4. KBF pass is under $50 a month for 4. Big difference. Add the food, drink and parking for one pass and you are still around $100, or half the price of DLR, where you would pay for food, drink and parking...

I want to like Knotts, but last time I went (2017) the park was trashed, poorly managed, and overrun by obnoxious teenagers. I also still don't understand why they got rid of the dinosaur ride just to let it sit there for 10 years.
This isn't to discuss Knott's, but to show that some former or low level DLR AP holders are getting Knott's SP'S.

But quickly...

>>Cedar Fair President and CEO Richard Zimmerman said the numbers are confirmation that the company’s strategy to enhance the visitor experience is working.

“Through the Labor Day weekend, we have seen healthy demand across all areas of our business, reaffirming the strength of our business model, as well as the early impact of our strategic initiatives. While our Company’s hallmark is exciting guests with world-class thrill rides, our strategy to further broaden the guest experience by adding more experiential attractions and limited-duration special events is extending our audience reach and encouraging guests to visit our parks more often,” he said.<<

To translate, experiental attractions are entertainment based, as are special events.

And Matt Ouimet is President of Cedar Fair, and Richard's boss.

Definitely thinking of a Knotts Pass with the food deal in 2020. Seems like a good deal.

Wait, you mean they're adding entertainment as a business stragegy? Instead of taking it away? :cautious:

So three options if you need parking

Ride Park only - $99 plus $115 for Meals, $75 for parking, and $32 for Drinks. $57 down, and $22.50 a month (11 payments plus down payment) - $313 (includes tax and processing fee)

Ride plus Soak City (Knott's only) - $120 plus extras above - $58.50 down plus $24 a month - $324

All Cedar Fair Parks (Great America and Gilroy Gardens are the other 2 in California (Bay Area) - $197 includes parking plus $130 for meals (good at all parks) and $32 for drinks - $70 down and $28 a month - $380

Thanks as always! So food and drink passes are valid at all parks? That is awesome. Maybe a Cedar Point trip is in order.

IF you get the Platinum Pass good for all CF parks, then yes, the food and drink passes are good at all parks.

You pay $15 more for the meal plan, which is one meal, and then a second 4 hours or more after the first one is rung up. (Maximum 2 per day).

The drink plan is the same, either a 16 ounce paper cup, or a refillable 22 ounce one every 15 minutes. And if you head to Cedar Fair, you can leave your refillable one at home, get a Cedar Point one for $5 and then bring it home to use at Knott's. Kinda neat to freak some cashiers out.

Parking is valid chain wide except Gilroy Gardens due to its management contract. ( The city keeps all parking revenue)

A couple more points, if you buy any 2020 pass by late October, you get one free 2019 admission and $15 admissions after that for the rest of 2019. Food, drink, and parking won't start until January 1st, 2020.

You get a 10% discount on most food and merchandise. Platinum's get 20%.

What's this target run ride you speak of? Never heard of it.
