We were just there this week for 5 days and I never saw the dream team all week. When we were there last Oct, they were all over the place. I only saw a hand full of people with the dream fast pass and no one with the pins. What's up with this?

Well, I doubt that every hour of your trip you were looking for the Dream Squad. And, even if you were, I find it very unusual you weren't even in the proximity of them.
You must realize there are only a few Dream Squad'ers property-wide and, at any given time, only about half a dozen (or less) in each park.
Their clothes are practically plainclothes. Light blue oxford shirt and khaki shorts or pants. Unless you are looking hard, you'd be hard-pressed to spot one. When they are giving prizes, you won't see them at all because they travel nearly-exclusively through backstage areas; so, unless you are walking up just as they are awarding, you wouldn't see them.
Next, were you at park opening/closing for ANY of the parks? There are always every day several Dream Squad members at the turnstiles or at the rope for opening and always some waving goodbye every evening. Here's some at the Magic Kingdom...

You said you only saw a few people with the FP's and the pins. As far as the pins are concerned, most people choose to stuff them in their pockets as keepsakes than wear them. And the FPs? Think about it - if you are in a park with 40,000 people in it and they only give a few hundred a day, just how many can you expect to see? And, again, take into account many people stuff those into their pockets as well. Mostly because they probably get asked all day where they got "those".

To the latter post by lilclerk, that's simply a matter of quantity vs. size. You, of course, are going to see a lot more Dream Squad members in an area that they have a lot less space to 'roam' in.

Both times that we saw them this trip, they were also wearing white vests over the shirts.
And we would not have seen them had we not been exiting the train at BTMR at almost the right time the first time and the exact right time the last time

I saw more dream team members in 3 days in Disneyland this June than in a week in WDW this past February.

Hmmmm
Anaheim is 11/2 parks with DTD
WDW is 4+ parks with DTD four times the size.

A bit more room to cover?

And as was said before, the dream teams travel more backstage, so measure it this way.....when have you been to the parks and not seen numerous dream passes, ears, lanyards? Clearly someone has seen them!

Exactly. When they are giving prizes they are legally bound to identify themselves (i.e. with the white YOMD vests).

The white vests stuck in my memory and even when we just missed it (last 4 people in the back of the train that didn't win) it was cool to see but even better when they told us congrats, we had been selected for a special prize for being at the right place a the right time! ;)

We were there 9/8/07-9/16/07.
We saw some members of the team.
Only one came up to my DD & talked to her & then gave her a Disney princess button. :)
My DH got picked to be in Woody's Cowboy Camp.
He was blocked by a group of participants & I couldn't get a photo. :(

I guess its being in the right place at the right time. In my past trips this year I hadn't seen any dream squad members and wondered if they even really existed.

I was at WDW last week and saw them all over the place.

And they do just pop of of anywhere at random...I was walking through Innoventions East a few days go and the popped out of the refurb wall in Innoventions. Missed a Dream Fastpass by one person. I also noticed A LOT more YOAMD giveway ears than anything else lately.

Forgot to mention that I also was told on by a dream squad member that the 1,000,00th dream was given away this past Saturday (9/15) at Its a Small World and that they are right on target for their official goal of 1.25 Million dreams for the year...Once again this is not "official" and is only what a dream squad member was telling guests.

The first time I finally saw a Dream Squad CM was my first day as a CM and I wasn't able to accept the prize. Just my luck that I'd win immediately after losing my eligibility.

We saw them lots at WDW in March but weren't lucky enough to win - even though we all looked very smiley and happy :ROFLOL:

I am off to Disneyland Paris in two weeks, does anyone know if they have Le Dream Squad at all?

It doesn't matter how you 'look'. The awarding system is completely, totally random so no one but a computer gets to decide who wins.

And, no, only the U.S. Disney parks are celebration the YOMD.
