What's the time span for fast passes?

I'm trying to plan out our trip and soon I'll be able to book our fast passes. Is there a time window allowed (like if you're running a few minutes late)?

Would it be reasonable to make one FP say at 10:00 and the next one 10:30 or is that too soon? Will we be able to walk right up at our time or is there a wait even for fast passes?

They won't allow you to have them so close. They are set up an hour apart. If you have Splash at 10 and Big Thunder at 11, you'll have some time in the area - to enjoy the Country Bears, Pecos Bill's, a Dole Whip Float in nearby Adventureland, or even a nice train ride around the park. If Space is set up at 12, you'll have plenty of time to get over there for that, too - whether by train ride or a nice stroll through the hub. :)

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
FP window is one hour so if you have 1 at 10am it's for 10-11am (with a 15 min window to be late we know this firsthand lol) and it will not allow you to schedule another until after 11am etc. ;)

I want to apologize. I think I misunderstood your question.... Like other comments have said if you have a fastpass for say Splash Mountain for 10am, you have from 10am-11am to get to the ride. Why I said 5 minutes is because we have gotten to a ride 5 minutes early, like 9:55am (if we're going by the 10am FP) and the same goes if you were to show up at 11:05. I hope that's not confusing. Lol

Each FP comes with a 1 hour window. You can not overlap the time windows.

Example

Attraction 1 9:00am-10:00am
Attraction 2 10:00am-11:00am
Attraction 3 11:00am-12:00pm

Of course you can spread the fastpasses throughout the day according to availability, they just can not get any closer together than my example.

Have fun!

In 2014 I could have sworn it was right on the money for arrival time. I can't remember the grace period for runninh late...

We have been late at least once each trip since FP+ started and last visit was October 2015 and it still let us in and turned green up to 15 minutes after our time. I don't recommend this by any means but usually if we were 10-15 minutes past it still turned green when we scanned our bands and let us through. ;)

I mean getting there early. I thought they said it worked up to 5 minutes before you FP time. I thought it had to be right on time.

I think people are confusing/combining *scheduling* FP+ with actually *using* FP+...

Before your trip, when you're scheduling your initial 3 FP+ choices, you're reserving a time window. Attractions FP+ are one-hour long, shows are shorter, generally 15-20 minutes. Your FP+ times cannot overlap, though they can butt up against each other (10am-11am followed by 11am-12pm).

Now, when you're actually *in* the park using your FP+ choices, there is an unadvertised grace period where you can use your FP+ from 5 minutes *before* the start time through 15 minutes *after* the end time of the window. (I'm not sure if the same applies to FP+ for shows)

Also, once you've *used* a FP+ reservation, you can even go onto the app or go to a kiosk and try to move your next FP+ earlier. So in the 10-11/11-12 example earlier, let's say you used your 10am-11am Big Thunder FP+ at 10:10. You walk out of the ride at 10:20am. You can then go onto the phone app and move your 11am-12pm Splash Mountain earlier, perhaps to 10:30am, which means that you could make a quick restroom stop and then walk onto Splash Mountain at 10:25 thanks to that 5-minute-early-arrival window.

In June 2015, we were consistently allowed to enter the FP line up to 5 minutes before the scheduled time (Micky turned green when we scanned). When my husband tried to push the limit and go through at 6 minutes early, we were denied (Mickey was blue). We just stood to the side and waited a minute and then we went through.

Oh okay sorry! Lol. I never tried early many times but once we did show up a few minutes early and they said we had to wait. So im not sure of the 5 minutes ahead either. Lol :cat:
That happened to us several times. I don't understand how it allows some people in five minutes early and not others. It seems it would have to be system wide. The times we weren't allowed in early were for Pooh, TSMM, and Test Track.

As far as your planning. I usually schedule two consecutive ones near each other and arrive toward the end of the first time frame by the time we ride that attraction it is time to go right over to the next one right after. No need to kill time in between if u schedule your day carefully

Just a tip, I usually don't make fastpasses until about 10 or 10:30. The first hour in the park, the lines tend not to be too bad so we hop on and off and knock several out. For example, for our February trip, we started when park opened at 9. Hopped in line to see Mickey (figure we would knock that pic out before anyone spilled anything on their shirts :) ) then headed to Adventure Land. Had our first Fast Pass at 10:15 a.m. for Pirates. So we rode Aladdin twice, Jungle Cruise and then Pirates all before our first Fast Pass for Pirates. So we rode Pirates again and off we headed to Frontier Land. This was not a busy morning in the Magic Kingdom so we usually don't quite get so much done. But we do knock out a bit in the first hour. :) Also, don't forget to leave time for lunch if you are planning back to back fast passes. Hope this helps! Have a magical trip!

That's my plan! For MK, I will try to FP 7DMT for around 10 so that I can knock out PP and Pooh before they get too crowded and then do whatever else we can in Fantasyland before lunch. We'll also FP Splash and Space for the afternoon after lunch. I love Pirates too. We've never had a long wait on that ride - sometimes even a walk on, so I'm going to chance it without a FP.
