What's the D23 Epcot Announcement that will affect call centers?

My understanding it's not relating that is planned to anything that features an overhaul. With the rumors that they're going to announce something at D23 for Epcot you can safely assume that there's more than enough leeway over a year before work actually begins (If we look at the timetable for Hollywood studios and how that progressed). It's interesting at this juncture that it's not regarding any possible overhaul/

Haven't read the whole thread, but what about an all you can eat pass for F&W? Like, pay $X and get a wrist band entitling you to eat as much as you want for a day (or multiple days).

Too much risk of exploitation on this. When you see large groups of people at F&W, one person buys the pass for the group. It's not a table where a server can watch over and make sure that food isn't being shared. Even if every other person in the group bought it, still too much risk of it being abused.

I would think Michelle Obama would be more likely than Barack Obama. Either one would result in substantial bookings.

I think they choose less divisive celebrities. Have politicians ever been chosen for the show? The ACLU might have a problem with that.

If there is something like this, it's not effecting the the onsite call center. My gals there have nothing on an an Epcot specific D23 thing. They are prepping for all the standard things they get called for anytime there are announcements, but nothing pointing toward Epcot.

This might be different for the DRCs as they get different alerts and whatnot.

I'm told that CMs working the call centers are being pulled off, 100 at a time, to be told about an upcoming Epcot announcement at D23.

It's probably not an attraction, because those take years to build, and people wouldn't be calling in now about it.

My guess is that it's some short-term promotion tied to the park. Anyone have more details?
Of course there is always something that we've been talking about already, that may possibly have the highest demand we've ever seen when reservations open.
