What's the D23 Epcot Announcement that will affect call centers?

Speaking of F & W, I could see them offering a food and drink passport. For X amount of money, the passport allows one beverage and one food from the kiosks around the world. While pricey, it would be less than if you purchase individually.

The gateway shouldn't need to close for the Gondola work.

You phrased this very carefully. You left room for "the gateway will need to close for some reason other than the gondola work" and/or "something besides the gateway will need to close for the gondola work."

I sure hope so. Otherwise the W&D race routes are going to be interesting in November. We'll just run up and down World Way for 13.1 miles.....

Could this be related to the long planned Technology festival for the park?

Oh my gosh, I'd be over the moon thrilled with that.

This current era of the 2010's looking toward the 2020's is such a truly amazing time of technological breakthroughs. Automobiles, computing, communications, commercial goods, food production, etc., etc. have all experienced huge advances in the last five years with monumental changes coming quickly in the next five years.

And almost all of that change is being driven by the great American Free Enterprise system (that Epcot was originally supposed to showcase) and happening here in America; Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, Google, Fracking Oil & Gas Revolution, Amazon, etc., etc.

Where the heck has Epcot been?!? A Technology Festival showcasing all these modern marvels that are making our lives better would be PERFECT and much better than yet another messy "Drink Around The World" bar crawl.

If an Epcot Technology Festival 2018 announcement happens at D23 Expo, I will be absolutely thrilled and it will restore my faith in TDO executive decision making.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am not a prude and happen to enjoy culturally-unique cocktails. But I do not get drunk in public and stumble around theme parks while doing it.

This thread is so all over the place - granted the call centers might get complaints, but they are mostly designed for dining reservations and resort bookings. They direct guest complaints and issues to Guest Services.

I don't think it's a new attraction or festival - they wouldn't need call center reps for those things.

Whatever it is, it's going to be within the next 12 months, at Epcot, and be instantly popular with a large number of people.

Imma go out on a limb here - and let me say that I have absolutely no idea what the announcement is - and say it's Barack Obama as a Candlelight Processional narrator.

Reiterating: I have no idea what the announcement is. I just think Disney is considering having something on the other side of the aisle, as it were, for when HOP reopens. And that'll be around this time. Again, total guesses, no information at all.

ETA: It just took me 31 minutes to make ADRs on MDE for the all the open CP dates. That's why they're going to need call center staff.
