UoE needs a major update. I'm talking about the videos: the Jeopardy set is sooo old. It's not even close to the current set. I mean come on, the score boards are still lightbulb arrays!!! UPDATE THE THING!!

Great Muppet Movie Ride: With Disney having acquired the Muppets, the plans for GMMR have been taken out of mothballs and are being considered. I've been told by some people that not only are they being considered, but will be announced as soon as LMAX opens and are a definite go. We'll just have to see.

Indiana Jones Adventure: Obviously the one I would like to see. This is kind of a boggling rumor, because there are so many forces acting both for and against it. On one hand, the plans for IJA have been around for that area of MGM since at least 1995, MGM needs a new E-Ticket, the Indy stunt show is getting old, and the fourth IJ movie will be released soon. On the other hand, everyone with any kind of inside info have suggested that "it's just as likely as anything else right now." So we'll see.

Would it be at all possible for both of these to happen? I would love to see the GMMR. I saw some sketches from the original plans, and it looks like a hilarious idea. But IJ looks like an amazing ride. But if it comes, I'm hoping for a new track layout, cuz it's the same as CTX.

imagineerfan:  You don't know? Just kiddin, it's Notre Dame.

If they demolished the 20K space, why not the speedway as well? 3rd rate attraction from the 70's on a huge piece of land. Seems like a logical spot for a new e-ticket.

First, great post. Second, I am very much hoping that this one is true because I would like to (1) see if Disney can actually build a dark ride from a blank slate anymore; and (2) see if Disney can write a script with actual humor in it for a ride.

Query: where this attraction would be placed. I would think that they would want it near Muppetvision 3D and I think they would prefer something more "E-ticketish" on the Indy Stunt Show parcel. Is there room for this where the Buzz/Woody Meet and Greet and old Hunchback show were located?

My thoughts exactly. I know the kids love it but I really think they should simply try to fit is somewhere in Epcot by Test Track. This would be a kids version. It couldn't be that expensive to build a new track at Epcot. That land at MK is just to valuable to spend on the speedway, and its right next to the 20,000 spot. If you combine these two piecies of property it is gigantic. Then they can really come up with some incredible ideas.

After EE, I suspect nothing new announced for at least 12 to 18 months, or at least nothing large along the lines of a soarin or LMAX. Like I eluded to in other threads, during the months after EE Disney will cash in on all its investments over the past three years, as well as analyze what their current needs are and projected needs will be.

Because it is really hard to predict what each parks specific needs will be until after these attractions open, I can't even speculate on what will be coming. Although it is always fun to hear everyones ideas.

This is fun, there are some really great ideas/rumours here. I would love to see Mysterious Island from TDS come over.
But you are correct. Especially with a new CEO this will be a quiet analytic period until they get thier next plan together (besides some rehabs, etc.).
Unless I get the job, then expect to see a bunch of cranes all over the resort as soon as Eisner gets out of my new office. :D

It is possible for both to happen, but even if it did the two would not open within 5-10 years of each other. Personally, I don't think that Disney would build both at all, with them being so costly, but then again you never know with Disney. It is quite possible that one out of the two may happen though.

The empty Skyway building already has sufficient space for a major attraction, if Disney wanted to build one. That land would be developed before the Speedway's. I could see Disney closing the Speedway, but not for a long while.

First, why thank you. Second, plans for the GMMR were actually made in 1989/1990, so I would assume that the script would be almost the same.

Though I'm not quite sure where it is, I would assume that it would be built where it was supposed to originally in 1993 (behind MuppetVision near the backlot). I don't know what's there now, but I'm sure there's space for it back there, and that's where it would probably go.

The funny thing is, Project Gemini actually DID contain plans for a speedway-type ride for kids next to Test Track. Great minds think alike, eh? ;)

i feel that once EE opens, AK is going to need a few more attractions to pacify the larger numbers in attendance.

MGM really needs a new dark ride and an e-ticket, and as much as i love epic, it needs to be taken out, and replaced with a great indy themed ride. i've seen epic three or four times, and really only go because it's there. it doesn't have much "re-ride draw".

i think after EE, we should get something in AK/MK, and Studios...

the sets and videos need to be GUTTED.
i think it's funny, for the first ten minutes, but the other 30 minutes are NAP TIME... NO JOKE... everyone in my family fell asleep, mainly because we were tired, and the attraction is long.
the dinosaurs need to be completely redone, and the room they are in. take out the story line, and maybe have Bill Nye and Ellen doing time travel? not dreaming?
there needs to be less video, and more themeing in the rooms with more AA's and elaborate sets!

They really really need to add some more to MGM Studios. I only go there for TOT and RNR and everything else I just visit because I paid the admission and I want my money's worth. It is the only park where I honestly feel bored halfway through the day.

I understand how you feel, even ST has become less desirable to ride. ToT, RnR, and GMR is the only attractions I care to see at MGM. Could you imagine if the park didn't even have ToT or RnR. Even the people who don't like that Disney has been obtaining more thrill rides over the past decade has to agree that MGM would be a pretty boring place with out ToT or RnR, considering it is pretty boring after about a half day in my opinion.

The GP must agree with us, just look at Sunset Blvd, it is the most crowded area of the park.

After Everest opens, I would still love to see more of an expansion at AK, especially if we're talking about a completely new land, whether it's Australia, or whatever, but MGM probably makes the most sense for the newest big attraction.

With the new stunt show set to open, Indiana Jones Stunt Show becomes expendable, since it's been in the park since the beginning, and I don't see any need for 2 stunt shows in the same park. With the new Indiana Jones movie supposedly coming out, it would seem logical to get rid of the show, and add a new version of the IJA from Disneyland.

Also, I personally LOVE the idea of the Muppets Great Movie Ride, and I would love to see the whole Muppets land carried out, with the restaurant that was described and everything. With Disney owning the rights to the Muppets now... hopefully that, with a strong showing of the Muppets Wizard of Oz will make this possible. But, we'll just have to wait and see.

Regardless, the next big attraction will have to be somewhere towards that end of the park, since there's a great imbalance in the crowds. You have 75% of the people on Sunset Bloulevard for the entire day, including when they all pile in for Fantasmic. New attractions at the opposite end of the park will spread out the crowds a little more, and with more stuff to do, it would be possible to go to MGM and stay for more than half the day without getting bored!

I heard somewhere on the boards that that they might be refurbishing POTC and HM just like IASW. That means maybe new stuff for POTC and HM. I think HM really needs a BIG upgrade, and POTC needs to have the neding fixed up to make it better.

After Everest opens, IMO, WDS (better start getting used to calling it that ;) ) needs to be looked at...all I do at the park anymore is ride Tower and see MV3D (RnRc isn't worth the wait and Star Tours is getting old). I think a new E-Ticket (original would be great, but IJA would be fine with me) and something along the lines of the GMMR would definitely be of major help to the park.

Maybe with the supposed dropping of the MGM name in June, maybe it could move things forward with ideas for updating GMR. While I know that not all of the movies that are in the GMR are MGM films, do you think that the long wait to have the contract run out has anything to do with a big revamp of GMR?

You would hope that even though the contract expires in June, Disney would retain the rights to keep attractions with MGM movies in them open. GMR is one of my favorite attractions, but I do agree that a big revamp would serve it well... but what movies would the add in place of the MGM ones they would have to drop?!

I would like to see a revamp of the GMR, but as far as I'm concerned, thats still an enjoyable ride at the Studios. I think there are other areas of the park they should work on.. since there is a real lack of attractions there as it is. I think they should add some more, before they start rehabbing ones they already have.

The studio's need the most work, personally I really don't like that park very much, the attractions are all loaded on one side of the park and you have to walk half way into the park and then make a u-turn to get to them, the other attractions are way off on the other side of the park and there is very little in between them. There are empty buildings, poor traffic patterns and some outdated attractions. The backstage tour has turned into distater canyon only. Star Tours looks like its falilng apart half the time, maybe a new omnimover ride or even a new coaster or something else new. Animal Kingdom can hold my interest more than The Studios, maybe some new restraunts too that would be nice.

I love threads like this, so many great ideas and good info. What I see is
1) AK will build Australlia with Ayers Rock as it's center and have a tie in with Journey to the Center of the Earth.
2) MGM- dosen't the contract with MGM end soon and the park will be called Disney Studios- An up dated Star Tours and the GMR becomes The Muppet's Great Movie Ride and a new sceen or two at Fantasmic(Hello Peter Pan -Goodbye Poccahontas)
3)MK- Doesn't the Jungle Cruise Movie open this Summer? Maybe a rehab there-POTC Rehab New sceen or AA added- Haunted Mansion's Nightmare Before Christmas 2006
4)Epcot will get rehabs like Grizz said (Living Sea, UOE, ect.,) WS will get a new ride or a new country. 25 Aniv is too Important not to do something big
