I thought a poll on this would be very interesting :)

I would think Tropical Serenade would be a great conversion for a resteraunt with the show playing every now and then! Enclose the preshow and you have even more dining space.

I voted the original, but I would like if they'd let us in with Dole whips :)
UNM should stay a distant memory, and there's not the huge Stitch fan base here for Aloha E Komo Mai like there is in Japan. And I would miss Jose :p

You do know the ETR was originally a restaurant concept? One that carried over to DLP quite well.

Yep! That's why I think it would be a great idea! Not the same as Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe tho. Most certainly not the same as Chuck E. Cheese's, but lights could fade like they're supposed to and the tables could be glass with a blue glow when the lights go out, and a few light for cast members to see where they walk. I think it would be a wonderful concept!

I may regret asking this, but I'm gonna anyway ... why would the tables glow blue?

Here's the thing: I miss the original dearly, but I think I'd be happiest with an original that was cut down. 20 minutes is a long time, and I'm not sure I'd feel like doing it that often if it was as long as the original. So I voted for other, as well as the original.

And a restaurante would still be cool, I think, but I don't think it would be too do-able.

I was thinking it could have some kind of affect like the fountain in the middle when the time happens? Bad idea? Yeah I guess so... I was thinking they would be glass and had some colors that changed to the theme of the music with the lighting around the room...

How about if it was changed into a resteraunt, the songs would each be broken down into different segments that started every 15 or 30 minutes or so? And when each song/show isn't being played, the birds would just be chirping and moving every now and then with some rainforest sounds in the background.. like the sound and affect of rain outside the building at night with all the tropical colors?? :)

I've never actually seen the original Tiki Room show. I've seen bits of it on Youtube and on TV, and that's it. What I've seen looked pretty awesome. And I really deplore the UNM version. So I'd like the old show restored, and PLUSSED out the wazoo. Oh, and I like the restaurant idea too!

You know, speaking of AAs and restaurants, Club 33 has this vulture AA that's perched in the dining area, I think, and it originally talked, but is now deactivated. I wonder why?

I probably wouldn't mind a new version of Tropical Serenade with NO interuptions and if Disney does it right. The Tiki Goddess actually looked pretty cool, and if they could repair it.........no let's just not go to a new show... I can just imagine the birds singing "Be Our Guest" and the tiki gods singing "Be careful your food may be hot! hot! hot!" if it were changed to a resteraunt... :lookaroun

I'm sorry I can't trust Disney with a new Tiki Room show. Although, the "Get the Fever" show at Tokyo Disneyland looked okay, not great but certainly better than stitch and Zazu.

I'm not concerned with how they'd do a show during eating, I'm concerned with having a footprint large enough for a quality table service location in the middle of the world's busiest theme park.

As much as most of you would like the Original to come back, I don't think Walt would, he would have wanted something new, not go back to something that was created 40 years ago....

so my vote is for a new show

on that note however, I know that change isnt always a good thing, like UNM showed.....

so new but not cruddy new

Walt would have never allowed UNM to go to production in the first place...... he might have updated the show, but it would have retained the look love and feel of the original.... sadly experience shows that Disney's UNM was just the opposite hence many of us are hesitant to see an UNM2

I'd either like to see the Original return, or if not a retooled version of the Stitch show (Something like the one that's outlined in my fan script:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=347669 )

Stitch is out of the equation, Thankfully.

Walt Disney was very good at making original rides. Such as Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribean, Country Bear Jambore (tho died before it was released), and The Tiki Room....

Sometimes I wish walt was still alive to make things right again.
