What would you do?

...we're getting in on August 14th, the last night of Summer Nightastic. We are going to church at 6 PM, will get back to DTD by 7:15, dinner at Wolfgang Puck's at 7:30, which all sounds great.

BUT...

We have 10 day park-hoppers, and are technically only going to have 9 full days at the parks. So the 10th can either be used the night we get there, or the day we leave. If we use it the first night, I will hurry out of DTD, hop the bus to the GF, hop the monorail to the MK (I realize this will take quite a while, and I will probably miss the last MSEP :() but will still be in time for the last showing of the summer fireworks, then could ride a few rides since MK is open til 11. The last day, I could sit by the pool and relax until we have to catch the Magical Express.

OR...I could skip the rushing the first night, enjoy DTD after dinner, get a good night's sleep, and on our last morning there, have everything packed up the night before and spend the morning (9-Noon) at the parks catching some last minute rides.

ADDITION: If we don't choose to see the fireworks IN the parks, can I go somewhere to semi-see them and hear the music that night after we finish up at DTD? Thanks!

Your thoughts/recommendations/opinions are greatly appreciated!:)

Hmm, that's a toughie.

We'll be there during that time too and I really want to make the effort to see MSEP and Summer Nightastic! while they're still going on (even though MSEP isn't on the calendar during the time we'll be there I'm guessing it's still going on the same schedule until the 14th.)

I think it's probably up to you, but it would be a slight bit of a waste of a day to just catch the fireworks on the first night. You would probably get more use out of your 8-12 on the last day.

I guess it just depends on how rushed your family wants to feel and how badly they want to see the fireworks or if they would just rather take it easy and have more time in the parks on the last day.

We always want to get to the park even if it's only for a short time to get ourselves into full Dinseymode.

You can watch the fireworks and hear the music from the beach at the Polynesian. We did it several times last year.

Last day. There's always one thing you want to do again, or something you didn't get a chance to do because it was closed or Fastpasses were all given away or you had to leave that park early or SOMETHING. IMHO, you're better off saving it. And if you don't wind up using it...pricewise, you're only losing something like 2 or 3 dollars.

Another vote for last day. View the fireworks from the beach at Poly. The Castle explosion isn't as visible, but the perimeters are much better seen from there and they pipe in the music. Then spend that last morning in the park where you missed the most stuff you wanted or just want to do stuff again.

We are in the same boat....arrive late on the 14th and dont have passes. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they extend the parade and fireworks thru the end of Aug. But not holding my breathe!!!! Boy how nice that would be!!!!!

Kind of getting on board with everyone's ideas. If we can take a bus to the Poly after DTD to watch the fireworks, I think that would be awesome! That way, you're right - we're always the people who are like, "Just ONE more time on Splash Mountain," etc.

Thanks for all the opinions!!! ;)
