Happy New Year!:D

Seeing that today, or tomorrow (Where you currently are) is the 1st of January and thus the first day of Disney's new WWYC? Promotion I was wondering what visual and audio changes have been found in the parks. Are all of the YOAMD media gone already? Have rumored audio announcements changed? (Monorail?, ROE?)

Just thought that this would be a handy place to list the update.

That's true, is Jan. 1 the first day of the free birthday entrance?

Judging by the crowds I'd say a lot of people will be celebrating their birthday today :lookaroun

As of yesterday, there were still lots of YOAMD banners up. Those will probably begin to be replaced with "What Will You Celebrate?" over the next week or two.

As of today, all of the entrance banners at Epcot are still touting the Year of a Million Dreams. I assume that redressing of most posts will begin sometime soon.

Cool thread!

The promotion started earlier as far as printed media goes....two weeks or so ago i received my travel papers for a upcoming visit in late January and they were all themed to the WWYC promotion. I was pleasently surprised, as the last four or so travel documents came in the familar YOAMD wrappings. Actually, i was downright giddy that it was NEW after like two years! So it was neat to get a taste of the new promotion via my Walt Disney Travel Company documents.

The main travel brochere and new suitcase tags are NICE. If there is interest and a need to satisfy curiousity, i can scan the stuff and post the images here.

I like the yellow/orange/pink color theme this time around. It gives it all a nice sunny look after almost two years of seeing blue and white. It looks fresh and fun. I like it!

Just scanned the itmes, now emailing them to myself.

I am so old school here, i have to email images to myself to turn them into JPEGs. You see, my scanner always turns stuff into TIFs! Maddening it is...yes....so once i scan something, i have to email it to myself to convert into a JPEG..thus enabling me to post it on PhotoBucket ( or anywhere else for that matter...)...and sharing it with the World! TIFs never work when it comes to posting ...so i have a little process i have to go through to get things 'ready'!

It is always worth it though....this is cool stuff!

While i am waiting for the images to arrive in my Inbox ( it's slow..i have dial-up remember..lol...) i will tell you about the documents.

Two nice full color glossy cardstock items arrive from The Walt Disney Travel Company when you book a trip this year. One is a very neat large foldout card of sorts that contains your two new WDW plastic luggage tags. Woo! The images used on the cover and back are what make it a nice item.

The other item is the cool booklet that now contains the actual Travel Documents and Vouchers. Before they would arrive in a vinyl holder, and all the documents/vouchers for your hotel/tix/etc. were seperate peices of paper. NOW they are all bound into this cool themed booklet. Again, the graphics are nice and it really added a extra Magical element.

It's ALWAYS 'Magical' getting your documents, exspecially from WDTC, but this time around i found the new theme a big plus.

Hopefully in a few minutes i can show you what i am talking about!

Okay..here are the first two of five images.

This is the cool cardstock card that contains the WDTC Luggage Tags. I have laid it flat to capture both the Front cover ( with Mick) and the Back cover ( castle with balloons)

The size of the actual item is 6in X 9 1/2in

Inside the above card, you find your cool new luggage tags! Woo!

Here are the other three images, this time of the neat Travel Document Booklet!

This is the front cover..glossy cardstock, about 6in X 8 1/2in in size.

When you open the front cover, this is what is on the backside:

It is a nice way to begin your veiwing of the vouchers contained within. As mentioned in my previous post, all the travel vouchers are now bound together in this fun little booklet. The theming is carried over with streamers and coffetti motifs lining the innermost borders of the documents.

Once you have veiwed your travel documents, the inside back cover has this closing image:

It leaves one seeing themself in this picture ( well..your typical family vacationers would see themselves that is...) and it is a nice way to close the experience i thought. The actual back cover is just a blue sky with your mailing address printed ( for viewing through the mailing envelope window). Both back covers, as well as the mailing envelope these items are mailed in, has the blue sky/peeking castle image shown above in the 'Baggage Tags' card.

So there you have it...a preview of the cool stuff being sent out currently from WDTC!

See ya in the Parks, kids!
